Code blockading Sothis

So many people making a big deal about a game.

To the CODE, this is a GAME, not a military training simulation, it's not real, it's supposed to be fun and entertaining, not your personal battle simulation.

To those whining about the CODE, it's a GAME with options, use them to your advantage and deny them their prize.

Either way people it's just a game.

Obviously your statement of JUST a game is not true. Are people not using their REAL time to play this "game". Are we not getting real emotions involved in this post? Are you not getting REAL happiness when you achieve something? Or REAL displeasure when youre at the insurance screen paying millions to get your ship back? Anything you do in the moment IS your reality and there fore the activity you focus your time on is a real as anything else. You could argue that life is "just a game"... a really advanced simulation... and Id like to see you prove otherwise.

Tell that to the people that lose credits on their ships when they get blasted away. :)

I see this point a lot on this forum. We are playing a game with agressive NPCs which are out to kill you for no real reason. Whats the difference if you get killed by one of those NPCs or a player doing the exact same thing?

Or are you not afraid of NPCs because they are not a real challenge? Shouldnt you welcome someone who is actually dangerous in that case?

I mean we are all playing a game which focuses around combat (not strictly pvp), you cannot really play this game without either getting shot at, killed or killing someone else.

It's just a computer fantasy or in other words a game. It's not real and really not worth getting your panties in a bind over.

CODE seem to be overrated as far I see.
They interdicted me in Sothis, I simply submitted, full throttle, let off some chaff and heat sink and left them in my dust as I went into HS.
They were completely ineffctive

Regarding the difference - AI will spawn wherever I spawn - players won't - so if the game decides you have an AI on your tail then you have to deal with it. 6 interdictions tonight - boosted away from all. With a player I can just avoid being interdicted - unless I want a fight of course.

I've been playing 2 - hours tonight - in open - haven't deployed weapons just boost and chaff and 4 pips to shields.

So in my experience it's really easy to play without killing or being killed.

NPCs,stations and random stuff are way more dangerous.

Never been killed by a CMDR Pirate but i have been obliterated by a Farragut and several Coriolis. Oh yeah and the obligatory roid slams.

I also got killed by my own wingmen once, that was different.

Official Code Response

Hello Elite Dangerous Community,

We apologize for the disturbance at Sothis. This "blockade" was carried out by two members of The Code that initiated this operation in question without authorization. Due to the occurrence of said act was around a time frame where administrators were deep in their slumber, this was not put to an immediate stop.

We have put the "blockade" to a stop and prosecuted the two members in question.

We would like to thank the community for bringing this event to our attention.

That's a shame:(

I think it is humorous that code starts blockading after long distance smuggling out of Sothis is severely nerfed.
