CODEX update with ALL confirmed locations.

I would like to propose an update to the CODEX which would show ALL confirmed geological/biological structures, anomalies, etc. and not just the first discovered ones.
That is all.

Do you actually have any idea how many there are?

In just the inner orion spur there are 2,606 systems reported on edsm with bark mounds, it's possible that many system will have multiple bodies with bark mounds, and that's just from pilots who actually report to EDSM. So that's one type of biology, in one area of the galaxy. There are 10 types of biology in the inner orion spur, so maybe 26,000 systems with biology.

Now lets look at geology. 4,000+ systems with sulphur dioxide fumaroles, I would suggest maybe more than 100,000 entries for all types just in the inner orion spur, millions in the galaxy as a whole. The sheer load of your computer handling that much data is a problem, and the you need need to update everything every time you log in?

There may be a good reason they just keep it to first discovered.

One thing it does have is the "found in" information, which gradually gets populated as players find more of them.

It's often possible to deduce where things might be from that without needing an exact system name.

Don't get me wrong OP, I do think the Codex is dissapointing as is, I use the EDSM online codex regularly, however I don't think just shoving everything in is the right way to go, I'm not really sure of the right way to go myself. It may be possible to do a query on data within a certain distance from you as long as you were willing to wait a few minutes for it to download from the fdev server, but with the complaints at the moment about the length of time it takes volcanic sites to appear in the FSS I imagine even a few minutes would be to long for most people.

Yeah i get what you are saying and i agree, maybe the codex isn't the right platform to show all due to the shear amount. maybe it could so you the closest one to your location instead apart from the first discovered location?

Another idea i had is that the players would automatically leave a beacon at each visited site which would be "readable" from orbit. So once you go to a body with i don't know, 37 geological structures, we would know if anyone visited any of them and what exactly is there.
