Cold Guests in Arctic Tundra Biome

Frontier, we love this game, we sink our lives into it. You give us this Arctic update and dlc with the northern lights. You want us to play it, we want to play it.

But why oh why did you not update the guests to wear appropriate attire to the climate? They're coming to a zoo in the frozen north of Europe and they're all pouting wearing their jorts and sandals.

I know I know, place heaters. But placing heaters and ensuring the heat doesnt leak into the animals exhibits is just annoying. Especially building it around a 15,000 square meters exhibit.

So don't place heaters? They may shiver and hug themselves, but they'll still spend money. I never go out of my way to cater to the hot/cold state of visitors other than place a higher quantity of certain drink shops (coffee if it's cold, slushies if it's hot) and it hasn't affected the profitability or overall visitor happiness of any of my zoos.

I don't think they are gonna do that. Giving all the guests appropriate clothes takes a considerable effort. They are not ready for that.
Use it at your advantage, like @Jaggid Edje said, place warm food stuffs everywhere and train your staff to deal with the many customers you will get :)

The clothes are a copy/paste from Planet Coaster. They didn't change anything there, so don't expect any changes here. Just give them a heater and a roof on the shops, and that is good enough.

To bad the info booth doesn't sell coats...

I've seen that suggestion on here and reddit, it's a great idea. I understand, as Dr4gon said, that it would require some effort from Frontier to implement appropriate attire for biomes. But as myself, a few others and even Whats0There said, for paid dlc, it should be included

I dunno, guests cause lag for a lot of people. I've wondered about the hats and balloons they already carry and if that adds to it. I think that a whole new bunch of guests would have to be created for cold weather biomes. While it would be nice, I don't think it's a very high priority for the game at this point.

Fair point. I just personally find it annoying how they walk around in jorts and sandals in the arctic tundra all pouty because they're cold. It's a zoo! Be happy!

I'm not saying that my opinion should be the one to change anything or that I matter that much. Just an observation I've made personally and seen other people grumble and thought I'd bring them here hoping Frontier sees it and considers doing something

It would be good if a Street Fox Coffee could keep them warm for a set amount of time at least, like a buff.

I'm not sure if its programmed that way but other posters made it sound like the guests buy hot beverages more in cold environments and cold beverages in hot environments.

Haven't been back on since yesterday to test this though

Does it affect their happiness levels tho? If it does, then it bothers me, if it doesn't, go ahead and shiver, who forced you to go to Antarctica in a t-shirt.
Not at all. The cold is just a visual effect, nothing more. You can place coolers on top of that make it -40, and they will still dress like it's Hawaii. Just look at them shiver, while you are in your warm home with a cup of coffee :D

Then again, none of this DLC was (or should have been) a very high priority for the game at this point. They could at least have added winter hats and gloves.
Edit: As I wrote that, I actually disagreed with myself right after posting. The DLC was a high priority for economic reasons.

DLC doesn't prevent the development or bug fixes in a game. The same people are not doing both. For the most part, modelers, animators, and texture artists work on DLC. Level designers and programmers work on bug fixes and development. New features and major changes require a decision from upper management first and then most everyone will be involved. That's a gross over-simplification, but it gives you an idea of why presenting us with DLC this early is not really an issue.
