It's bigger and slower, there is still no parity between scoop and FSD. It will suit some people, but not me at all, unfortunately.
Yeah, I agree. I love
nearly everything about it (and the Scout too). It looks and sounds amazing! It feels lived in, kind of like a Viper. Paint chipped in the cockpit, none of this shiny Gutamaya stuff (says the guy that's been in a Clipper for 5 weeks). It's got personality! I absolutely love the design. A+
I took it for a quick spin to Maia last night to see if I could tolerate a 4A fuel scoop. Well, I'm not so sure I can. Maybe I've been spoiled by a B6 in my Asp or the D7 in my Clipper, but it's ridiculously slow. The 32t fuel tank kind of makes up for it in a way. Skimming each star will still get you a few tons of fuel and there's usually something worth stopping for every 10 jumps or so which is a perfect time to top up the tank. So it kind of works. It's also too bad you can't load up to be a Fuel Rat without sacrificing an AFMU. Lots of thought to be put into your build. I like that part!
In other news...
-- When filtering the Galaxy Map by star type, it now renders stars in a sphere. The size of the sphere seems to directly relate to the amount of stars in it. In civilized space the radius is 100Ly+. In the core the radius is 10Ly, which is
really weird. Gone are the giant cubes of madness. Instead all you see is a
tiny little bubble. I'm not sure I like it. It's very claustrophobic. I like being able to see big cubes at a time. It'll be a lot harder to map out badlands and things like that.
-- The crazy "UFO" dancing lights made an appearance when I was in Maia. And yes, I mean lights. There were TWO! One was orange and one was white. They're bigger and more glowy than they used to be.
-- Picking a target from the System Map still kills your route.
I think I had more things to mention but I'm drawing a blank right now.
