Only "combat logged" once and that was against an NPC (hence the quotes), I was winning the battle but not fast enough and lunch time ran out. So my conscience is clear on this.
This is the truth of it. ED is just a game. Sometimes real life happens. If I'm playing ED and I need to do something urgently (e.g. a support call for work), then the console gets killed, there and then, irrespective of what I'm doing in the game. If that is fighting (NPCs in my case, but I'd do the same if I was in open and against another player).
That isn't combat logging (killing the connection to avoid dying), that is just real life being more important than a game.

Utter Rubbish.
There is only one correct position on "Combat Logging", the one the devs express...to wit, it is CHEATING, if done in Open or Solo against Player or NPC, it is considered CHEATING, full stop. The one possibly acceptable excuse would be a genuine glitch. Piracy and murder on the other hand are accepted game behaviors and completely legitimate. Its not open for debate or subject to opinion.
Sorry, but you are wrong. It is only combat logging if you logged explicitly to avoid getting killed. It is not combat logging if you urgently need to do something in the real world.
