Common suggestions to improve Elite: Dangerous

Mission bidding (money/time):
Exactly what the title says: (certain) missions that players can bid on, in an e-bay style short term bidding war (e.g. an hour).
Two versions:
- money: the player that pays most, gets to do the mission. Why pay? Merits! This allows richer players to get the feeling they can get special missions, only available to them. That should fit in some of the Powers' ideas of how the world should be (bloody capitalists, probably)
- time: a bidding version for everyone: you can bid on completion time. Time sensitive missions would be ideal for this. The player that promises to be able to complete it the fastest, gets the mission. Of course, there is a large fine for non-completion.

Have NPCs with alternate missions be able to message you directly, instead of having to follow them out of SC.
You get powerplay messages that way, saying to help your faction or that you have your credits waiting. It's the 31C and you think they'd have things running smoothly... ;)

Also being able to pay fines/collect local bounties from your cockpit - maybe after an amount of time and must be in that system

Have TWO letter boxes - would save on the turn the ship around animation.

i cant be bothered to read this entire forum so if this has been suggested already sorry. but we need an in game codec. a user interface that explains all the different aspects of the game. you loose 5 in every ten people i recommend this game to simply because they cant figure something out and dont want to loose immersion to google it. tere are people out there who dont play games becouse they lack simple core features like that. and much as most hate it that faction is the vast majority of gamers. before you give us more features give us a in game manual that explains all the different lingo ad areas.

As a HOTAS user I would really love to see the addition of a config setting that disables mouse steering while piloting, but enables the mouse when in UI menus.
It's easy to knock the mouse or leave it off center after closing a docking station menu, which causes my ship to turn or spin on takeoff.

I'd like a new indicator added to the HUD.

Say when you have scanned someone you could hit a key to say that person is not of interest to you, and they would appear as a circle, this way I know who I have scanned with a glance at the HUD. The amount of time I spend locking onto people I've already scanned...

Scratch that, I just figured out that there are already dropdowns in the control screen that achieve this by allowing you to disable the mouse x and y axis.

PVP PVP PVP. It's difficult to find other players in the ED universe so I came up with a quick suggestion that I hope you guys help populate. In your galaxy map make an option for CMDR's to view the CMDR traffic in other systems. This will help in players interacting with each other and could lead to a more active ED universe.

What if we could change the ship voice, much like how the OS voice can be changed in Titanfall. However I think it would be cool if people where able to upload and share their own ship voice packs as its client side.

Also on the topic of ship voice, I think that the ship should say more.

For example instead of saying "docking request granted" it would say "docking request granted, please proceed to docking bay [X]"

? do you mean that you have cleared out your local part of space, and need to find more victims without actually exploring ?
That would take the fun out of being a loan wolf, knowing that Big Brother was watching me.
SO if your Idea was to be implemented, then please would EDdev allow the victims to receive an email saying that they were being "pinged" & its is time to light out to pastures new as 'The Bulldozers" are massing on the borders.

Have you heard of voice attack? And the different voice packs you can get for it? I'm using legend which is a males voice and it replaces everything my normal ship computer would say. And I'm pretty sure it's made by a people aswell.

This is a purely technical request:

ADD AN OPTION FOR AUDIO OUTPUT DEVICE IN-GAME.

A lot of games give the player the option to change, in the in-game audio settings, the audio output device. I would really like to see Elite: Dangerous do this as well.

It is very helpful for me when I can tell a game where to output the audio, since I have kids that like to watch Netflix on my secondary monitor (An HDMI'd Samsung TV).

So, being able to force Elite to audio output to my Realtek speakers (headphones) while the rest can go to the default (TV) would be nice. Thank you for your time!

I hate that Elite: Dangerous will default to whatever output device is set as default.

PLEASE PLEASE add this? Thank you

Couple of fairly effortless tweaks:

How about some NPC's dont trash talk you constantly when your fighting them? Perhaps some can be left with a bit of mystique.. especially if they're kicking your ass.
How about not all pirates are Wanted in the sector you are in? This would mean you have to wait for them to engage and even have to bait them with some juicy cargo.
I find i'm always turning the orbit lines off because they take the beauty of space and turn it into something that looks more like a diagram than an environment.. Can we tone them down a bit just like the HUD control?

Also how about all those things in the first post :D Otherwise keep up the good work!

I'm sure this one will go down like a lead balloon but one thing I really miss from FE2/FFE etc is dropping into a system at a somewhat outer location and having to then work your way into the inner solar system.
As much as I like the ol' sun in the face after every FSD Jump, variety is key and it does get a bit samey after a while. I know this goes against the notion of the FSD operating close to gravity wells but hear me out. You could sell it as an module that can be activated, perhaps "FSD target? extender". This would open up a few unique game play opportunities.

Being able to jump into the tail end of a system might be preferable for certain activities. For example RES are often out in the suburbs and can take a long time to get to. Binary, ternary system visits may get a leg up in this scenario as well.
Conversely avoiding the inner solar system may be a good strategy if you are being hunted or want to avoid attention (some of us aren't all that welcome in the civilized inner solar system).

How would it work exactly? Targeting planets would still be a no. An inherent penalty of this module could well be the lack of precision when jumping in. This could be exacerbated in larger systems offering a bit of a journey lottery.
The exact drop location could be taken as some scaled average of all the planets mass/location in the solar system with some variance along the orbital plane maybe and a couple of hidden bias's so we get the occasional money shot jump. Or whatever works..

This game is HUGE. We can't expect you guys to create EVERYTHING. Is there the possibility of putting in game tools where players might be able to build stuff. I think it would be awesome if you reached a certain point as a trader we could invest in creating a new station for example. Or maybe have to invest in a station with a bunch of players. We could generate income thru trade done at the station and upgrade it from a small station to a huge hub with a custom name and add modules and junk to make it look somewhat unique. Just a thought that maybe you could use the community to help y'all fill this awesome sandbox with neat stuff.
