Comms Chatter

I like how now, when I'm in a combat-fit Vulture, and an NPC shieldless Sidewinder pirate comes up and scans me, it comes up with "Hey man, I don't want no trouble," or words to that effect, and then slinks off.

Though there is still the occasional insane lunatic newbie pirate, clearly high on Onionhead and overexcited at owning his first new Sidewinder, who decides to have a go. Which is also great, heheh.

Love the variety.

Cracked me up the first time I saw that. I thought, "wow, finally a common sense NPC. :D"

Human Comms chatter

I've been saying it for a while, some human voice comms chatter in appropriate places, like around stations, or when requesting docking / launch would do wonders for in-game imersion, instead of the robot female ship voice.

It was one of the most amazing details in the Horizons trailer.

Absolutely, thought the same when I saw this trailer; also thought that whenI watched a vid someone linked, think it was about humans hunting flying-flesh-eating-deep-sea-whales on alien planets.

Given the excellent job the sound dept. have done in this game, I'd love to see that they could do with this.

NPC coms chatter

I think it would be great if we could hear the radio chatter between ships and also radio messages between your ship and station
ie if you are in a nav beacon u can here radio chatter between the ships

Would be cool, but doesn't seem to be likely, if the recent "Answers from the devs" is anything to go by:

We added a load more chatter variants as part of the CQC Update and as new NPC circumstances are added (such as new scenarios, or triggers) then we add more chatter. We also want to look at chatter providing hints and clues to hidden or secretive events like treasure hunts. There are no immediate plans for text to speech.

This is the sort of thing I hoped we would eventually get when approaching busy star ports... a background ambiance of overlapping traffic control and communication dialogue that increases in volume as we approach the station, and decreases as we move further away.

You do actually have faint background chatter if you are facing the starport, or docked with the starport menu open.

I know. But its barely noticeable and there aren't any adequate ambiance volume controls in the audio options. An option to turn background ambiance up and lower ship engine sounds etc, so the radio chatter becomes more noticeable around stations', could help create a better 'busy spaceport' vibe.

There's an option in SOUNDS to get all sounds to the same level - I believe it's the NIGHT setting. Give that a go it might make the chatter louder.

Yeah but I think playing in solo wit would be more realistic

It could he turned off as there's that option in the Audio . It shows some in the first horizons video with the cobra going in to land
