Well, as I pop into Starter Space every so often to help the new Players (and have winged up with other Players for other reasons), I had to vote Co-operate.

The meta on this is interesting. Yesterday's thread explaining why PvP isn't a good route to boost your faction developed into a discussion on PvP vs. PvE play. In general, it is far easier to cooperate to achieve PvE goals. If the ratio or responses is at all similar to the spread between pvp/pve players in this game (90% co-op) then the PvP crowd is likely a significantly smaller portion of the playerbase than the PvE crowd even before considerations regarding the lone wolf explorers.

Having experienced games where the PvP crowd was looking for the sadistic experience of deliberately inflicting pain upon others and enjoying their tears I am glad to see that the crowd here is not quite so.. brutal.

Between the two; I choose cooperation every time I can. Helping a player always makes me feel good. Hurting a player, in the moment, may be cathartic, but I always feel a bit bad afterwards.

Plus, if I happen to be a participant in an event that ultimately is responsible for the long term retention of ONE cmdr, it means that I helped myself by extending this games revenue source.

Not a fan with competing against no-lifes/exploiters. It's why I don't even bother with CGs or PP.

Developers NEED to channel the PVP aspects of this MMO into a dynamic that both encourages PvP for the massive amount of players that want it - without it impacting the massive amount of players that don't want it...

Plus prevent griefing...

Without making separate gaming worlds like groups/solo/open/Arena that fracture the community...

Again - really bad game design - Fdev full your finger out and unite the Elite community behind you - please don't try to divide and conquer us - in the name of supporting kick-starter or original road-map ideologies that clearly negatively impact Elite Dangerous's public reception...
