Just wanted to let people know some of the issues I found and hence possibly save you hassle. It has taken me two weeks to set everyting up and get everything working - i am just about to launch the game for my first real outing! Whoop Whoop!

Things I discoverd:
I have a thrustmaster t16000. No need to use the target software you can map the buttons in game. If you want to use one of the buttons as a shift button, in the controls mapping section of the game just press two buttons at the same time.

When mapping the buttons ( roll, pitch, yaw) do not map left on the joystick or right on the joystick individually to the x axis. Rather in the same column as the keyboard settings (first coloumn/ primary) map the axis to the roll axis (to the left of the sensitivity slider). I can actually play the game now as the large dead zones have been removed.

I bought the HCS voice pack to use with voice attack and I kept the HCSPACK KB+M option - i then mapped the joystcik leaving their default keys alone.
I made an IR clip using you tube vids. PS3 eye about £7 on amazon. OSRAM SH***** IR leds - £6. I butchered a tape measure case so that clips on to the headphones and used 2 BIC pens as the arms - you can melt these so they bend to the perfect shape, one led is actually in the case. Note: IR leds have to have the correct polarity or they will not work! Normal leds can be anyway round but IR leds have to be a certain way. That took me an hour to figure that one out!

I used opentrack on its own and it works fine after ADJUSTING THE MAPPING curves. I assigned 'enter' to turning the headlook on/ off within that prog - i am yet to figure out how to attach that to a button on the joystick as it doesn't seem to work; i have seen thread saying the developers have been notified. Also in opentrack adjust the 'centre pose' found at: mapping/ option tab so your head is centred.

I know most of this is probably obvious to most people but to me it wasn't. If anyone wants my files so you do not have to do it all yourself I can put them somewhere. You can have the opentrack .ini file, the binds file (a work in progress) i use and the photoshop template to assign your own keys. You might have to wait a while as I about to be lost in space for some time...

Excited!!!

Hope it helps.

A very interesting thread by Maddavo: "Price sharing - price sanity check algorithms". I think this is a VERY useful thread. Might I suggest hopping over there and give your opinion about the matter. I'm sure that we as a community can come with some clever ideas. In the all tools could be benefit from it. Not only EDDN - which distributes quite a large percentage of the commodities prices market.

OK: times up wrt adding entries. Will be back with a vengeance starting the 22th of April. Sooo curious what the state of the codenamed ED3PTT tool will be when I´m back. I´m going backwards through this thread and add stuff to ED3PTT. Currently the thread has 14 pages. I´m currently at page 10 ;-( Luckily and I sincerly hope this is true things will get better. Biobob created an importer for the entries on the OP. I supplied him with my TODO list and he imported them as well. Saved so much time - and stopped me from going insane.... My hope is that from page 1 to 10 most entries will already be in ED3PTT - as in imported. Only in the end (last 2++ months) when I couldn´t manage the OP anylonger I dumped new entries as a post in this thread, mostly just a simple link.

Don´t forget (see also OP) to post here name suggestions for the tool codenamed ED3PTT. We need a much better name. Perhaps you all can come up with an even better name then biobob has come up with - which is a secret for now ;-)

Also please do post new entries here. They will be included in ED3PTT before it goes live.

Rest of the free time will be dedicated to SPAM the hell out of biobob. We still have quite a few open emails and things we need to discuss.......

Note: State of ED3PTT (20150410 11:59 AM) wrt number of entries:

Tools: 55
Threads: 43
Total: 98 entries.

Not that shabby. BUT please DO make my live a living hell (make me cry and beg for mercy) by flooding this thread with tools/threads I´ve missed or which you find useful. Better to have a entry posted multiple times then not having it reported at all. I don´t discriminate. Whats posted will go into ED3PTT. I know for a fact that I´ve missed oodles of good tools and especially interestng threads.

Wolvie signing off

Edit: Aside from a tools and threads/guides section there also will be a video section. Should you have urls for (good) vids, just let me know ;-)

I use Cmdr Thrudd's Trading tool all the time.....its pretty reliable and give me what I need.

I don't like the overlays, clutters my screen, I run the Trading tool on my iPad seperate from the game so I dont have to Alt Tab all the time.

Good Work CMDR Thrudd

Its indeed a very nice tool. One thing I currently miss is that his tool (which seems to be quite popular) doesn't upload to EDDN (yet).

RegulatedNoise DJ-Version. *All in one* (Trading) Tool
Thread: RegulatedNoise DJ-Version" *All in one* (Trading) Tool.

Copy/paste from ED3PTT:
Many of you will already know RegulatedNoise
and the others can get to know it here :)

Originally, this open source tool was created by maxh2003 (link to original thread)
but unfortunately it wasn't further developed after January '15.

As for my needs (see list) it was exactly the right tool, I decided to continue the development of RN (also since January '15)

  • Trading Tool
  • Commanders Log
  • view of systemdata
  • systemdata based on EDDB
  • built-in, quick OCR
  • plausibilitycheck for scanned marketdata
  • optional connection to EDDN (export and/or import)
  • open source

20150424: Added to the WIP tool codenamed ED3PTT (see OP).

I created a small Excel spreadsheet which allows to manually insert stations and their goods prices for import / export.
A comparison column has two dynamical drop down lists, where one can select the station he is starting and the destination station (new stations are automatically added to the lists).
The comparison column than automatically calculates the export prices from the first station against the import prices of the second and will display how much benefit every trading good makes.
The most valuable good is highlighted so one can see in two clicks which trading good makes the most profit to fill empty cargo.

It comes already with some collected data in SOL and data from 10 systems located around SOL.

Limitation: As I am using the German client, the trading good names are labelen with their German names, feel free to translate it.

Disclaimer: I can't provide any guarantee of the correct calculation or any other error which may be in the file.

Feel free to test it, I am lookinig forward to some feedback and maybe hints about similar tools out there which are already better ;)

This might be a useful tool too, a route planner. I haven't seen it mentioned in this thread.

http://www.reddit.com/r/EliteDanger...e_copilot_v013_now_does_basic_routing_on_top/

The thread title on reddit mentions version 0.13 but a version 0.17 has been posted too on github. I know route planning is in the works, but still.

Friday 20150424: Tool is in the WIP tool codenamed ED3PTT (see OP).
Done by ED3PTT author biobob who created an OP importer - saved LOTS of time.

It is DONE. I finally have been able to go through this whole thread.
ALL entries, whether on the OP, TODO or mentioned here in the post are now in ED3PTT.

Current status:
Tools: 66
Threads: 47
Videos: 2

It does NOT mean I'm ready. I still have to go through the "crowd sourcing coordinates" and EDDN thread to collect all tools etc there. Also when ED3PTT is nearing release I have to go through the it again. This is because I've to set the "Status" field for each entrie. Not to forget there will be new fields created (like reported by etc) to fill in.

Going to take a little break and coordinate things with biobob before going through the mentioned threads (see also signature) and create new entries. I've this feeling 10-15 more tools needs to be added to ED3PTT. Live long and prosper ;-)

You made me smile, thanks for that. REALLY thanks for that. Sometimes a simple rep or a kind word is all it takes to keep on going ;-)
A bit of OCD also helps.

Now wolvie, forget the booze, forget the good stuff (Dutchie...) and get up and finish what you have started.............
The day is still young..........................
