Julung was "Julung Purple Vision Corporation" also a Corporate Independent.

I have a new, intriguing theory about CNBs, and one that should be fairly easy to test in your local systems if you're interested.

My theory is that there will be a CNB in a system if there is a non-controlling criminal faction that is above a certain influence level in that system. The influence level required would depend on the system security level.

This would go some way to explain why CNBs tend to go away when an anarchy faction takes over.

I was hoping it would explain Nastrond, but that one is still a bit of a mystery to me.

Are there criminal faction types that are NOT anarchy governments?

Doesn't work in Colonia. None of the systems with CNBs in 2.4 had any Anarchy factions (or Criminal non-Anarchy factions) at all.

In 3.0 the Colonia situation has changed - it looks like all of the systems with CNBs previously have lost theirs, and new ones have appeared in other systems. I haven't had time to check everywhere yet but I'll post a full list of changes here when I have it, in case it's useful. This may be related to the RES reshuffle being mentioned elsewhere, or it may not.

It's possible for a faction to have the Criminal ethos without being an Anarchy, but this is as far as I know extremely rare. You can tell easily if so because they'll offer Anarchy-type criminal missions.

I know of just two examples: Smiling Dingo Crew (Canis Subridens) and Macrath Science and Research (Macrath) - both Criminal-ethos Feudals.

Yeah, Hecate lost it's CNB with the last system maintenance. I'm wondering if the rules changed with 3.0.

Nastrond is still active.

Okay, so in the Colonia region, between 2.4 and 3.0:

==> All 10 systems with Compromised Nav Beacons in 2.4 returned to Normal in 3.0

I think something has changed 2.4 -> 3.0, same as the hazres situation. I think it all ties into crime and punishment under the hood somehow. Elsewhere I've read that FDEV are looking into the hazres situation and so it make all change again in the coming weeks.

Yep, I wonder if we get our CNB back in one of our Systems. Was the only reason we expanded in for that in the first place.

I personally believe the CNB changes are related to the HAZRES ones, but it looks like we aren't going to see things change back any time soon, if at all:

Once I get a bit of time to dedicate to it I'll be running through my entire list of 300+ CNBs again to see what's changed.

I would have to agree. I personally don't have many CNBs (Fed Corporate) but have noticed the Haz Rez changes.

I have always assumed CNBs were akin to Haz Rez anyway, so I assume a similar effect influences it.

One of our Systems had a CNB before the 3.0 Upgrade. It was the main reason we occupied and took Control of the System.

After the upgrade it was gone, much to our disappointment, until we realised that it had been moved to another of our Systems nearby.

Both Systems are small, with only one Planet and no RES or Haz RES.

Isn’t the security bucket driven by the weapons trade demand?

I would guess that delivering weapons and armor to a system with a CNB fills the security “hunger” just like the wealth, food and health buckets.

Take note of the demand in systems with CNBs?

It is "Vucub Huan", near to Lave. It used to have a faction for every major power but the Alliance one is gone now.

I visited Pyemmairre and Julung a few days ago and found they no longer have a CNB.

There's a couple more lists of systems reported to have CNBs which I intend to collate into the spreadsheet and then do a bit of a check over all the Anarchy ones, at least.

If anyone can work out what system "Vukub Huan" is meant to be, that would be great.

Trivia: You can't mention the system "Marya W_ang" (remove the underscore) on this forum.
