Ohh man, geez yeah holly...though your right she was a he to start with....and again later for a while lol
yep, I definitely liked Holly more than Hilly, but sorry filip is just plain wrong, I cant really even think of it being different opinion factually he is way off base!.
There ARE male voices in the ships station, and whilst its true the ships computer is currently female, they had to have it 1 way or the other, unless he is suggesting having random samples for different things, which would be utter madness imo.
The only other option would be a sexless robot voice but that would just lack soul, and I dont want that in my car satnav**, let alone 1000 years in the future.
It just seems to me to be stirring up anger at sexism for the sake of it to be honest.
**which I have John Cleese on before I am accused of being sexist myself
PS someone posted exactly this same thread months ago. Please tell me it wasn't the same person??
PS as already said, ED has a very nautical theme and ships, like it or not, ARE generally called in the feminine in the maritime community. I think it is historic, I cant remember exact reasons but I think (going back to GCSE theology) it is something to do with trying to appease "mother nature" whilst on the sea, given that "she" would be less likely to sink a female.
