For a little background: I’m fairly new at ED with around 20 hours play time. Earlier tonight, I took a mission to deliver Boom Data to one system, then in route, a mission update came thru that changed the destination to Poppers Keep in the Hollatja system. A planetary outpost on Hollatja 2. No problem, it was only 10ly or so away. Problem is, when I got to the Hollatja system, there was no Hollatja 2 on the System Map, no Poppers Keep in the navigation list, the Star was labeled “Unexplored” and the only items on the System map was an asteroid belt and a small station named Fermat City that I docked to find out what’s going on. Looking on eddb, I see that Fermat City is orbiting Hollatja 1 and also eddb has all bodies and outposts listed as if they should be easlily found. Is it normal for this to happen? Star unexplored? No planetary bodies showing up in the system map? I’m just confused. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
This is because you have not explored that particular system, either through the discovery scanner or by buying the data from a nearby inhabited system.

You can:
A) Scan the system yourself
B) Scan the navigation beacon

Either way, you'll be able to see where that particular base is and be able to hand in your mission.

Hope that helps!

Welcome to the forum, btw. :D

Do you have an advanced discovery scanner? I assume not, but if so honk it. If not then drop down into the nav beacon location and scan the navigation beacon object. Once you've done this, your system map should show the second planet.

Edit: Doh ninja'd :D
