Frontier would be easier for you, steam takes a couple of extra steps - up to you. Only reason to buy Steam usually is because fdev sales are rarer, or you have bought a 3rd party key.

Thanks again. The bummer is that on Steam Odyssey costs NZ$27.49 as opposed to the Frontier store at £29.99 (approx NZ$57)

In an hour or two it will be on a 45% sale on the frontier store too!

If your new PS->PC account is a Frontier account (and not a Steam account), then I'd buy it directly from Frontier! That would give you access to the stand alone launcher while also allowing you to add it to a Steam account, I'm not sure that the reverse is true..
