UGH, I wish that this was painless. but alas it isn't.
Cleared PC save to free up my name. ( same name as my console save )
portal will not let me use my name. ( says its unavailable, choose a new name )
name is reserved to my PC account still I guess.

submitted ticket from a link on here with people that have same issue.

Now what do I do? wait for the ticket to get filled and then redo portal?
or will they transfer my stuff when they respond to my ticket?

console name has many first explored tags. So I do not want to change that name, or change it to anything else.

Why not slightly modify the name, then contact customer services in the meantime with all the details asking that your name is edited? They seemed very keen to help me that way before. So you have to wait a couple of days, so what.

I will just wait I think till I see a few people who have done it successfully. I have waited months, I can wait a while longer.

Although it seems it is working for some keeping the same name. So looks a bit random.

Ok, I'm in. 3hrs 40mins from queue start, so if it's taking any of you a while from when you start to queue, no need to panic.....like I did lol. Just looking to see if anything is missing but looks good so far. Think even my legacy modules are ok .

Personally I found the copy process to be painless and straightforward, and I'm hopeful that the vast majority have had the same experience. It's obvious a lot of work went into this process from Frontier and although initially disappointed Odyssey wasn't going to come to consoles I for one am grateful to be able to experience the new content on PC. Everything appears to have copied correctly and I've re-purchased my carrier and transferred my goodies. Added Odyssey to my new account without drama too.

Now... time to get out there and blaze some more trails...

Oh.. and for those wondering my xbox GPP decal copied over just fine also!

transfer is done, but i can only play Horizons with my PS4 account on PC. Oddyssey is still the original PC save. i guess because i forgot to clear the save. can this be fixed by reinstallation of Elite?

Did you request the account moved to the one which owned Odyssey already? It appears you created a brand new PC commander? You would probably have to raise a specific ticket with FDev to resolve it.

If it was to an account which owned Odyssey already then that's a bit of a worry too.

Not your bad at all, that should work although I had heard it wouldn't allow it till you cleared the save. You will probably need to raise a ticket as per my previous post. Good luck.

Two thoughts for folks having issues:

1. Have you logged into the same PC Account on which you clear-saved or registered a new one? The name will still be locked to the PC account that owned it originally so you'd need to be logged in with that PC account as the "target"

2. When did you clear-save? I did that yesterday ... so maybe there's a lag between the clear-save in the game and the Console Copy Portal refreshing its list of un-available names?

I literally cleared my save, then went straight to the portal and went through to the queue.

So I'm guessing the Horizons the launcher is letting me install is the free copy. Does this mean once it's done installing all I need to do is buy a copy of Odyssey to take part in the pews?
