I'm certainly leaning towards this, I'm also considering if I can contact a friendly carrier owner to inquire about storing a few Odyssey items whilst I transfer...

However, since it's not your carrier, you'd need to ask someone to set a buy order on their Bartender for the items you want to store, then later on to set a sell order and make sure only you can access the carrier/bartender while the order is active.
If there are only a few items involved, you two can meet and drop/pick up items directly - but it can get tedious if many items are involved

As stated anything can be stored but in particular the data and goods for engineer unlocks are what I'm looking at as this seems to be the grindiest bit of it.
They will be copied, no matter where you have them stored. They are attached to the account not to the location where they're stored
Carrier content will count as cargo stored and tritium in the tritium depot.
You might want to have shipyard and outfitting enabled at point of transfer, and set docking access to all.

They said they're looking into other options regarding carriers during the account copy - other than decommissioning
It should just count as a station. The only other alternative is to transfer all ships and modules to a station beforehand.
I just found out about this today. I've started a new account on PC, including the 'grinding' back in Nov 21. I have a PS4 account where I have a number of Engineered ships, including a FC and billions in wealth. Now I don't particularly want two accounts. However I don't want to lose my PC account. I could do a wealth transfer it sounds like, including livery (I believe) however I really don't want to lose my FC. That's the one thing I want. I hate losing the real life money I spent for paintjobs, detailing, etc but I really don't want to lose the FC. Doesn't sound like that can get transfered/merged into my PC account.
AFAIK, that question still isn't answered.. It used to be that you'd have to sell the FC and then buy it again on PC, but now they are "investigating" if something else can be done. Also AFAIK, you can get all your bling transferred but not unused ARX.
Doesn't sound like they can merge ships from PS4 account to PC account with the different name. I'm willing to sacrifice all the ships really but that FC.... Even be willing to buy one if they comped for it. Value plus the Credits in the FC currently (2 bil +), keep my detailing, paint jobs, laser colors, (bling), and the wealth. They then can kill the PS4 account. I'm willing to regrind for engineers, guardians, thargoid, PP modules, and ranks for the Super Powers. Already doing that now any way. Seems pretty lofty but there are probably a handful of console players in a similar position/desire currently.
Sell the carrier... apply for transfer now, under the old terms, and you will get all your credits/assets value moved to PC along with all the cosmetics - but the PS account will get deleted
Then on pc you will have enough credits to rebuy the carrier

Sorry for 're-asking', just making sure I am clear on this and what will get transferred.
If I get all cosmetics for all the ships I have currently on PS, I will buy more to exhaust the arx because those are toast regardless.
If I get all PS character wealth that would be great.
Rebuying the FC isn't a big issue that's why I am hoping what you're saying works. That would be my best hope.
Yes, from what we know so far you can't transfer the carrier itself nor unused ARX. But you can sell your carrier, liquidate your assets and request a transfer including all credits and bling already bought, this will result in your console account being deleted (this is already possible).
Or you can wait for the situation regarding the fleet carrier and then sometime in september transfer your account including all progress, bling, credits, etc, but not your carrier (as far as we know right now), this will give you a new PC account (including a new horizons license) and even leave your existing console account intact.

This all 'long grass' stuff at the moment.
We are in June.
Frontier have said that the account transfer will happen September / Q3 - months away.

- They have plans for what they want to do but dont yet have a working solution
- The plans may change, subject to the working solution being proven
- They are prioritising Odyssey in the immediate short term
- They are allowing the UK to get the summer months out of the way and will then focus on the precise messaging when everyone is back from holidays.
- Any conversation / discussion / conjecture / confusion / fears / toy throwing, should wait until at least mid September when Frontier's focus will be on what's intended to happen (anything earlier will just be shouting into the dark)
OTOH we have enough information to plan how we will prepare for the transfer.
What we want to set up and what we can put on the back burner for now.
