It's not going to progress... there was already a mass exodus... this was the nail in the coffin.
DOOM?

The only thing with ED that is cross platform is fleet carriers. Console, Odyssey & Horizon players can see any carrier. There has never been cross-platform play in ED. Kids on consoles cannot gank people on PC's.
Because they were tied to trying to make the game better with consoles in mind. By removing the code that is tying it to the console versions they can optimize in places that they couldn't before. The game will be better off for this move. They were already working on pc only, after 10 updates it is still not good lol. I can't wait to see the disappointment on your little boy's face roflmao
But the code was built for all platforms. Odyssey suffered because of it. Moving to one platform will ultimately make the code better optimized. The only thing with ED that is cross platform is fleet carriers. Console, Odyssey & Horizon players can see any carrier.
I like clarity. Clarity is good.
But although I am on the PC side of things, it feels like a leg has been amputated (so many players left behind). I believe the minimum is to offer them a PC account with free Odyssey.

Rofl, right!? Naw, now that console spring strings are cut, I think we are going to see big things this year.DOOM?
I understand and your right. Frontier knowing that this game is not just some seasonal game shouldn't release it on consoles in the first place. There is no place for continuously developing games on consoles.Consoles are just PCs with specific hardware. Companies already have to support hundreds of hardware variations on PC. If a game come out for PC and not console I have no problem with that. But a developer that puts a game on console should support it and not abandon it. I would have been fine if it never came to console. If they were not competent enough to support console they should not have ported it to begin with.
You are right and that was the “un stated” thing in Branen’s message though it was loud and clear. Horizons for PC is “done” as well. Except in the case of PC, they may shutdown horizons servers entirely. This is a terrible take. There are multiple code bases. Odyssey PC-Horizons PC, Horizons Console. There is no such thing as Odyssey console, so why is it that console was somehow gimping PC? News flash. It wasn't. Odyssey ED is poorly optimized. Somehow you forget that Odyssey and Horizons PC is still separate code bases. Stop blaming consoles for poor development.
The only restraint that they have for console that they don't have on PC is that console updates have to go through extra QA. Odyssey never would have passed the QA because they don't know how to optimize this game. With PC only they can update and put out what ever they want even if it is completely broken.Because they were tied to trying to make the game better with consoles in mind. But that is not true. Many other developer have been able to accomplish it across numerous console generations. GTA 5 came out originally for the xbox 360 and the ps3 and it is still getting updates it came out before Elite Dangerous.. A developer worth their salts can handle it. Not Fdev apparently.I understand and your right. Frontier knowing that this game is not just some seasonal game shouldn't release it on consoles in the first place. I have invested over 5000 hours into playing this game. Spent nearly $1300 USD on Frontier Points/Arx through out the many years playing the game.
To be told that Odyssey will not be coming to console? Then I humbly request that I would like to transfer my account over to PC Elite Dangerous:Odyssey
Not just credits.
ALL OF IT, a carbon copy of my account over to PC. My full progression.
With my ships, their engineering, my credits, codex stats, ranks, materials, bookmarks, purchased cosmetics, my squadron trophies(not my squadron) and fleet carrier. All of it. My total progression whilst on Elite.
I don't care if i have to pay for the transfer.
This is not a ludicrous request either. It's a fair request by your player base.
Frontier needs to be flexible with their console players. If your not going to give us Odyssey then fair enough but at least give us the option to continue on pc with our accounts so we can pick up where we left off. I don't care about buying the game again... I'd happy give my money to my favorite game. Just give us the option to do so.
This should be with in a reasonable request from console players.
How long until PC players on Horizons get merged?Console servers of ED:Horizons is the same as with PC´s, I have seen many console CMDRS in Horizons system chats.
So console servers will stay on as long as there is ED:Horizons on PC, I would bet.
