Finally, at last, at least a conclusion to the "When will Consoles get their copy?" question. No, it wasn't the answer we wanted or hoped for, but sometimes when you are trying to make something that's 20 oz big fit into something that can only deal with 15 oz big, trying to squeeze it further and further just doesn't work no matter how hard you squish it. That coupled with the frame rate issues we PC users still experience (and Horizons worked great on my GTX970 card on ULTRA settings), I felt that they were trying to balance between consoles and PC's and didn't work well on either one.
Hopefully, FD can really knuckle down on how things are rendered on PC and get the graphics back to where an old GTX970 can go back to ULTRA settings so the story can move forward.
Dark cloud: Xbox and PS users will either be stuck with Horizons only and miss out on any on-foot activities, watching from afar through the window like an orphan, wondering what it's like where everyone else is.
Silver lining: Some (not all) will get a gaming PC, get their account moved to PC and join us, meeting many "new" players they never met before, more opportunities to wing up, etc. Maybe now we can see why certain signals were pointing back to a star system in the COL 70 Sector. Maybe.
Honestly, I know a lot of people are disappointed. They have a right to be. But even I know that "No battle plan survives contact with the enemy" and the same is true of this kind of thing. It killed MAC support. Now both consoles.
For those console players that go PC, if we meet on a station, your beer is on me.
That is, if we ever get the opportunity to buy someone a beer at the bar.
