There are clearly disproportionate emotional reactions here, and I am curious how those people manage more appropriate responses and reactions in in real life.

You may want to join a Neurologist, anthropological, psychiatrics thread as we are all mental here and you can only hope for a reasoned reply to an inane question.
You think this is disproportionate? It's been peoples passion for a long time.

To honest. Literally none of us care how difficult it is. We just want it done.

If it takes time, then take time. But Frontier, if they actually respect us, will do it.

If they don't, then they won't do it.

What about the merge of Horizon and Odyssey? I think Fdev said merge will happened with Odyssey console release. I guess we should expect the merge soon? So we will be able to see our friends from Horizons directly in space.

Lots of people have zero faith in them to do what the correct thing is because they couldn't, even when throwing us under the bus, be bothered to think of anything more then a Twitter response how how they would fix this.

"Hey, CMDR's we won't make promises especially with this bad news, but this is how account transfers work now and these are examples of what we would have to do in order to have full transfers. It's not a simple solution as you can see and we can't promise it will happen but we will try our best."

Would have been fine, I would have been upset but understood.

But FD can't even do that. So I'll draw all the conclusions I want because FD has proven they can't be trusted to do neither the right thing or the base minimum.

I want to be wrong. But yesterday proved maybe I shouldn't hope for anything about this game.

Now that they have officially made the best decision for the development of this fantastic game with great potential, it will evolve now, I'm sure. I'm very hopeful !

The cancellation of the console release doesn't imply the development of ship interiors, I think I don't want to get my hopes up until I see it in game. I don't trust FDev with their current track record. Obviously I would love to get ship interiors, even if it's only walking on our cockpits.

The anguish expressed by those players says to me they are, so I’d agree. The latter part of your comment, well l’m not so sure. What if the issue is technical limitations and they can’t make it work. Put yourself in their shoes, what would you do, if despite all the questions posed the answer from your team is that it just can’t be done with the tools we’ve got.

For a starter they could have used their honestly honesty and inform the community that they don't know if it's even viable instead of making the promise of "it will be released on consoles"

Precisely this

Cancelation of console release means cutting development costs.
To be more specific: it means they dont have to invest in development to optimize the Odyssey engine/client so it reaches the performance level needed to run on consoles.

Sp performance increases are not to be expected any time soon, but they might still happen albeit at a very slow pace

No need for that surely. All the higher rated content is on foot, which the horizons players will not be able to access.

Does any comment on here have the ability to change the announcement that the game isn't coming to console - No

Are console players better off for Not having to suffer Odyssey and will continue with the initial game - Yes, if you like grind.

Is Odyssey a convoluted contrived unoptomised mess at the moment and runs poorly and cannot be ported - Yes

Is the product financially viable - No

Are the company holdings dropping - Yes

Is any opinion likely to change the announcement, again - No.

Actually Ian, re-read your comment as you may not identify that as a console gamer, we will not have future updates or console support that we we would have had under our status last week prior to this announcement, so technically it is you who is also not correct. The Horizon game is still present, but our status with the game has changed.

But honestly I do get what he was trying to say.

On a technical level Ian is correct. What our issue is, is more of the personal level I'd argue.

Horizons may still be there but we won't ever get anything new again.

Well, thats not quiet true. Theyve said to delay console Development in order to fix the pc version first. And to be honest, it was quiet clear after several perfomance patches which doesnt have the expected outcome that it wont come to consoles.

Yet they only kept saying that they didn't had a release date yet, not that they didn't knew if it could be done. I expected previous gen to be dropped but I thought that current gen was possible, I genuinely thought they would release EDO on current gen console at some point. Their communication with their community, their costumers, is awful.
