One note. My initial industrial outpost cost a little more then in the table plus it required aluminum. I suppose this is just for first station

This was mentioned (by Piers Jackson) in the intro to colonisation livestream segment (12:26):

The primary starport ... has an inherent cost and it also will have some infrastructure cost for what comes afterwards so the primary one costs you a bit more in terms of effort

I wonder if this accounts for the supposed 32% difference between the colony contact's numbers and the amounts actually required by the colonisation ship, if the colony contact is working off the base numbers?

Looks like the data in your posts closely corresponds to the spreadsheet @DaftMav posted on reddit earlier today, which I think was also based on numbers after the primary port was built.

My spreadsheet indeed has the amounts after the initial Outpost was completed but if I try to go and colonize a new system I still see the same lower amounts. So I think once you choose a new system and send the colonization ship, the amounts are suddenly increased at the colonization ship? If anyone can confirm this?

I also did some math using reports on higher Asteroid Base cost and it looks like it is about 25% more for the first construction on the listed amounts in the UI, at least for Asteroid Bases, it might be different for other tiers (it is about 30% less if you calculate it the other way). There was about 1000 tonnes difference but I think that's just due to the slight RNG added to the amount of commodities which I think might be around 2%.

So considering the reported 32% I think an Outpost as the first build might be 16% more than what is listed, while an Asteroid Base (perhaps anything of one tier higher) could be double that so 32%.

So now I wonder if a Tier 3 station is an even bigger %... maybe 40% or even 48%? This kinda punishes you for going with a larger station from the start in addition to having a timed deadline.

One warning regarding commodity requirements above. When buying required commodities ALWAYS check actual requirements on your construction point. There is rng involved and numbers can vary 1 to 2%. I went to build 3 installations after first outpost and found out that I lack 2t of pesticides, 14t of polymers, 30t of steel etc.
 
The Coriolis, when in the planning window for which installation/orbital to set up, costs ca 53K resources. When it has been placed and you can deliver materials to the construction site, check again, resource cost is now up to ca 70K.

Somebody said, and I'd be very interested to know too, that the actual costs scale up depending on how large and complex the system is. Has anyone observed this too?

As a data point, I have constructed two Coriolis stations in the same system (I know, mad...) one the initial one and one after building 10 other planetary and space installations. Initial Coriolis took 71320T, Second Coriolis took 52192T

Initial one is 34% increased cost.

I was making spreadsheets like OP however quickly discovered the random element which meant that other than knowing rough amounts and commodity types, the spreadsheet can't help with specific builds, you still have to update all the numbers each time.

Thanks for the data points, I guess at least it wasn't 40+ % but at the same time that really makes the ~33% of T2 Stations strangely high.

But that makes it 16% to 33% to 20% respectively for an Outpost, T2 Station, and T3 Station, give or take a few % RNG on top because reasons. I really dislike all of this RNG nonsense, like make it make sense... it's so typical FDev to add RNG to something in a way that only makes it more annoying to deal with.

There's no reason why the same structure can't be a fixed cost. And you'd think FDev would have learned a bit after the RNG madness that was engineering 1.0...
 
UI needs work. why am I looking any of this info up on a website instead of seeing it in-game.
It is in game, only some of it requires that you go to a surface first in order to view.

So you're right, we need a way to quickly access all of this data. But... this is Elite Dangerous. Since when was that a thing? :D
