Continual crashes - any response from FDEV?

On a more serious note, I am still unable to get in game, well, it starts but does not make it past 75-85% “prepping planet generation system” then the game crashes. I have sent in multiple crash reports xD

Rename the %appdata%\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\fsave_options11 file and try again. Servers are up and that seems to fix it temporarily. The file will be written again at some moment, but currently, it works for longer than expected, so I'm confident. Mode is Open as always.

EDIT: Too much trust obviously, it crashed after about 10 mins ingame. But I still could complete a donation mission!

It's a manual switch and a motivational message in the first place IMHO. Nice the servers feel good though they're actually down. Unluckily, the label is too short, so it doesn't display the second half, 'Good' is static because we all think positive. Could be anything ;)

The server status indicator was designed by the same person who designed the one in starbug.

Played normally* yesterday. Left the game having completed but not turned-in ten missions.
Today. Launch game, turn-in first mission: CTD. Submit crash report.
Relaunch game. Credits applied correctly, 9 missions in the list. That's encouraging- sort of. Turn in mission #2: CTD. Submit crash report.
Relaunch game. Credits applied correctly, 8 missions in the list. Turn in mission #3: CTD. Submit crash report.
Restart computer entirely.
Relaunch game. Credits applied correctly, 7 missions in the list. Turn in mission #4: CTD. Submit crash report.
Sigh! This is going to take some time...
Tried 5th turn-in after launhcing in Horizons4 & Solo. Same result.

Can't keep doing that. Launch game. Grab several missions. Will see...
Update: Ran 4 hit jobs & 3 black box ops with no problem. Haven't turned them in yet, of course.



*unusual number of discons, though. Blue cobra, Mauve adder, etc. etc.

Like I said earlier, not surprised, but continue to be amazed. Pressing on regardless; donations mission turned in CTD, donation mission turned in CTD, .... ....

And the amazement continues; flew to another system, landed, turned in a delivery mission and yep CTD .. report sent reloading - they broke the mission boards with whatever they fixed.

So would quit for the day, but supporting a faction losing an election, so have to finish accepted mission or they get punished further. :mad:

I am afraid the success of the maintenance cannot be classified as outstanding as of now with regard to mission submissions are rewarded by crashes to desktop.

Yeah, it's started happening on my GeforceNow setup too. Was ok yesterday, but crashed out just now when handing in a mission. Shame I'd picked up 15 evac missions...

I had miserable problems locally, failing to load messages, black screens, Frontier servers not available, general FUBA.
Smiled, rebooted, walked away for 30 mins.
All good now, no changes beyond the reboot (Steam install on Win 11, NVIDIA GPU).

If GeforceNow is demonstrating problems that's surely something for NVIDIA to worry about rather than Frontier?

So the work-around seems to be -- take no missions or if you do, don't hand them in; flying seems to be okay; going to shoot something next and see if I can have fun with that. Then back to turn in CTD, turn in CTD until I clear this set.

I am in a similar situation but cannot help but be concerned - even though credits are being applied to my balance correctly - that effort is being socked away for the tick. No way to know without information from we-know-who. Explains why I stopped turning-in after 5 attempts. (see post #86 above.)

Yep - handed in 2 missions, had 2 x CTD

Hmmm I would rather not mess with the files… oh well, maybe next week it will be fixed! 🤞🏼
