Controller Optimization Dualshock4

Is there any way to adjust DS4 analog stick (L3 and R3) sensitivity?

PS. I really need to purchase Thrustmaster T.Flight 4. It's a pity and little bit amazing that the old Thrustmaster T.Flight X isn't working on PS4.

This is sort of what the dead zone is - how far you need to push the stick before it registers. It's useful (on some joysticks) where they don't always centre exactly to stop drift, but the DS4 joysticks don't need as much as is configured.

I don't think there's any way to change the gain on the joysticks - I'm pretty sure once you're out of the dead-zone, it's linear.

Ok! Thank you Cmdr! This was very useful information :)

I ended up having to swap the Yaw and Roll bindings, and it works much better for me now. Left stick is Pitch/Yaw, right stick is Roll/Vertical Thrust.

I also use different bindings for the Landing Mode override (for those who don't know, if your Landing Gear is out/down, you are in Landing Mode). Left stick is Pitch/Roll, right stick is Vertical/Horizontal Thrust. In this mode, the D-pad is my Forward/Reverse Thrust, and Yaw.

It might be weird for some, but it's working well for me so far. It pains me to say it, but I am also considering Inverting the Pitch, and this plus Yaw on the same stick might really help those who are coming from a mostly FPS background get a better handle on flying the ship.

I also remapped Boost...because having the Boost button be the modifier for deploying Landing Gear is just a bad idea.

Me too, best way for me, I turn off roll into yaw too. I use R3 as boost.

I'm still looking for the best balance, its weird but the PS4 controller button mapping worked better on the PC.

Ive had to sacrfice loads of things I never had to on PC, and on PC I barely needed the keyboard. Theres one or two things the PS4 version wont let you map cos it believes it conflits with something else which it doesnt on the PC, like galaxy map controls, I cant use some buttons on the galaxy map cos I have them set to things I cant use when on the galaxy map, and a few other similar things.

I just wanted to add that the Sixaxis Headlook is glorious. Absolutely glorious. Set it to your preferred sensitivity, and use it often.

Great tip, headlook was one of the sacrifices I made, did without, never thought of sixais, never realised that was an option.

I would concur that the majority of problems or issues people are having with either the ds4 or the hotas 4 is, one needs to reconfigure the buttons for the way one wants to play. For instance, I am a mission player, you might be a pirate. I have no needs for hard points, playing in solo with a fully upgraded t6 freighter. My ship and flying ability allows me to escape every interdiction so far to date. And the missions I take would more than pay for a rebuy in very short order, even if I was in Thus I can use those assigned button for some else. So while one is telling one how to reconfigure there buttons, it all depends on what style you play. Should I start pirating, I'll need to reasign button that I've assigned to do things conducive to hauling boom missions.

I found a few minor tweaks have transformed the controls for me but I am finding the overall control setup to be amazing, and the headlook is perfect on the sixaxis.

All I did was put pitch/yaw on the left stick, and Vertical thrusters/roll on the right stick. I mapped throttle 0% to L1+R1 (a great emergency handbrake) and I turned off that annoying roll into yaw.

Turning off roll into yaw has improved my docking approaches no end.

Hi people. I want to ask that is there any option to adjust right analog stick's dead-zone? I have mapped increase/decrease throttle to right stick as forward and backward but sometimes i need to adjust throttle precisely and the dead-zone is too much on it. Thanks in advance.

Here is my binding.

Right stick — Pitch and Yaw
Left stick — Roll and Vertical movement
L3 — alternate controls with left-right strafe instead of yaw.
R3 — toggle FA
Turn off Pitch in Roll (!!!)

For landing:
Rebind L2/R2 for move forward/backward. With these landing is much easier, turn on landing gear, throttle to 0% and move with L2/R2.

X is for countermeasures:
X+R1 — Shield cell
X+R2 — Heatsink
X+L1 — Chaffs
X+L2 — ECM

Triangle is for targeting:
▲+L1/R1 — previous/next target
▲+L2/R2 — previous/next hostile target (but that look's like don't work well)
▲+Up (D-pad) — most dangerous target
▲+Down (D-pad) — target next star on the route

Square is for advance:
■ + Left/Right (D-pad) — sensors scale
■ + L1/R1 — Target next/prev. system

Circle for:
O + R1 — Silent Running
O + L1 — Throttle 0% (But seems like i'll use L1+R1 for that)

I'm thinking about swapping throttle/fire from L1/R1 to analog L2/R2, for better control. I don't need analog input for fire, but for throttle it will be more preferable.

The ability to save and share control bindings should be a thing.
Make it so FD,let the players set the optimum setup with our hive mind.
Because out of the box the controls just aren't right.

Need addition HUD buttons for L2 and R2, like now with L1 and R1, so when you holding modifier key, binds for L2 and R2 will appear in the bottom part.

The ability to change between analogue and switch mode on these buttons.
Its such a pain at the moment due to how many different things we need to control.
The ability to download a setup in a particular style and just try it,make changes and re upload it for others to use would be great.
I'm pretty sure the community would come up with some really good setups pretty quickly and make the game much more accessible.
The possibility of changing your setup for different roles becomes an option at that point.
