I use a PS3 controller on my mac for Elite - I've found the best setup for me was similar to the "Classic" context, but with yaw controlled by pressing the joysticks. It's digital, so not ideal, but is about the only way I could get a full set of controls on the two joysticks. I do (did) rely heavily on the keyboard, so it's going to be interesting getting used to all the modifiers needed.
75% and 0% speed presets are absolutely essential. L1/R1 at the same time may be an option.

I wonder if Frontier has support for the X-52? a friend tells me his X-52 works on his ps4 (he plays that f2p war thunder) and if its ps4 compatible then maybe Fronter have added it?
I intend to set throttle and yaw to the left stick, pitch and roll on the right stick, vertical thrusters L1 L2,fire 1 and 2 R1 and R2
There's a sweet spot on the throttle in a turn that responds well to an analog input.
I've used this setup for a couple of years and i'd recommend trying it,i think it gives more control.
Yikes, tried this in a Sidey on the PC as wanted to check out the Starter Systems as I heard rumours they were in lockdown (false) and its bad, real bad, not good for landing at all, no precision control.
Once I have a setup I'm happy with (and had a chance to actually play the game) I'll draw a picture of mine. I need to do this anyway to as there are too many combinations for me to remember.Would be cool if all of us post a pic with some of the changes we made to our controller, so its more precise for ppl who play the game in other language, but use this forum lol
I can't land on a pad without left and right thrusters bound to something. Took me 5 minutes to get my sidewinder down in the middle of the pad, but at at angle was the best I could do with the default controls. Anyone figure out where to bind left and right thrust?
I just use the default for that. It's easy to flip between the two settings by using L3, once you get used to it.
