Core mining seems a bit broken since Trailblazer update?

That explains why I've not seen this bug. Who bothers laser mining a core these days? They don't even have much in the way of minerals...
just as another data point, I just returned from a core mining trip, no issues. But I also never ever touch the rock before making it go boom.
As of 28 March 2025 this is still an issue, but not laser mining fixes the problem thank you from a much richer (and less frustrated) Commander. o7
This bug is caused only when and if you pop resources from ANY asteroid you have not cracked, at ANY time during that play session. That is, if you see random asteroid with a Tritium surface deposit and you grab it as you pass by .. then find a core asteroid and crack it open, the bug will trigger and you won't be able to pop the core resources off the broken asteroid pieces.
You have to relog (not to main menu but completely out to desktop and restart launcher) to reset this bug off.
Just ignore the existing surface and subsurface resources and go straight to core mining (aka hit the fracture points with charges).
