Current CGs - is this some kind of joke?

Is this serious or is this a bit?
You know.... I’m not even sure. Sometimes I have a hard time differentiating what is real life and what is not. Maybe my real life is ED and I’m playing this other game where I have to work in an office, look after a house, raise kids, yard work and all that stuff, and I’m playing it way too much. I’d better go on a long trip to think about it, maybe I can supercruise to Andromeda, worth a try.

Sure, it takes longer, and the local terrain certainly makes it a challenge (only successfully managed to jump across one of the ravines once, but boy was it a satisfying landing!) but it's incredibly fun and exhilarating observing other players getting in trouble from a distance while I roll into the base completely safe & undetected.
How do you access to the base with the SRV? Is there an SRV hangar?

Yes, most if not all pads have a 'garage' nearby (you can spot them by looking for a short ramp that leads to them). Drive in, request for docking (this took me a while to figure out), once you receive clearance you can 'board' your ship similar to when underneath it. Farseer's garages (and other bases that are situated at similar topography) are either on the top, or also at the bottom of the ravines so you don't have to climb up if you're down within the valleys. Easiest way to spot them is to disembark in your SRV while docked at any planetary station, they all have them - just drive around and familiarise yourself with the layout so you can find them a bit easier.

Cool, I didn't know that.
So once you dock with the SRV you spawn inside your ship in the hangar or you access directly to the engineer services?

I gotta say... I kept expecting someone to jump to FD's defence here and provide at least some semblance of an argument about why this CG is good. Myself, I normally would tend towards the 'white knight' end of the spectrum (if we must label...), but this time I got nothing.

With my recently reset CMDR, I went to the CG station and dumped all the data I had; I made no effort at all to get any more. That got me to 75% and earned me 144m. The only time I have earned this kind of money from a CG was the exploration one last year where there was a boost to exploration earnings, and I genuinely did make a big effort, and felt the reward was more or less appropriate. Here, I make one trip, dump the data I got organically while playing - no grinding involved - and next thing I know I have an Anaconda's worth of money. And that was because I supported Winters - I'd have gotten even more from Hudson. Is it just that FD tried to put a credit value on a commodity that cannot normally be bought and sold, and came up way off target?

I feel like I entered a cheat code.

There was almost perfect official radio silence about this so far (except short RP message on twitter thanking players for valian effort towards support Campaign of the president Hudson), which is in itself good enough reply too.

Request Docking through the Nav Panel like youre in a ship btw, not through the normal board ship method.

Best I can do is - It was optional and didnt affect the wider game much.

Really?
So you spent all your hard earned encoded materials and felt it was like a cheat code? One that you organically gathered in how much time?

I dont see it as a cheat code, but as an investment that suddenly came into fruition. One that might come again in 4-6 months. Or never.
And personally i would not had wasted, for example, ACED to get credits. Since i usually find credits way more easy to get than them ACEDs
Some MEFs or DWE, maybe. ACEDs - never

In my day I got a Decal and was more than happy, but you tell the kids today that....

I still mainly want decals, over and above anything else at all, its a permanent record for that ship that took part in that CG for me. YMMV

They totally missed the opportunity to give all the top 50% an extra "Jameson Crash Site" decal.

I love that idea but as one who didnt do the CG at all, not even one mat, I would not like it if that was the retrospective change they now add. Besides, most of the top 50% would probably prefer a bandage after that CG.

but yeah, decals like that would be awesome in game, Jameson, Hutton Orbital, INRA, Zuara ones etc you only get after visiting, Id love that. Even if it cost ARX as long as tied to the 'achievement' of visiting itself. I still look at all the DW & DW2 ones with envy and a 'Wish I was there' mentality. Not jealousy, envy, well deserved by all who got them. My BTG 2 one is the best I got and I still love that one.
