Gone ...[...] Where is the community interaction I have heard of so much?
HI StumpCake, We know it's an important request - it's probably one of the most discussed items here on the forums. Custom Object Imports from 3rd party sources is a subject best left for another day right now. Please note that I am not confirming or denying the existence of such support. [happy]Since August everyone has been asking. This is an important feature not to be ignored!

Gone ...

[...] There's a lot of stuff we will get to in due time with releases to social media and here on the forums. [happy]
I wouldn't say gone, we've been quite busy. I do read thru each of these posts here. [tongue]
Been busy with a lot of Forum code changes and other items. Making note, I have to jostle between Elite Dangerous and Planet Coaster forums, among other communities. Seems simple, but when the main Frontier Forums nets about 40k posts a week, it does put a strain on my ability to keep posting freely over here.

Yeah, but blueprints is a totally different thing (rather correlated with the "building tool", more than "custom content")As previously mentioned by Richard Newbold, You'll be able to make blueprints in game and share those however.
Okay, I understand and thank you very much for your reply. [heart]I wouldn't say gone, we've been quite busy. I do read thru each of these posts here. [tongue]

You are sooooo much right ...Focussing on Planet Coaster is the way to go, since it made such a big impact on the themepark-simulation. Everyone is hyped for that game. Also the RCTW fans.
Planet Coaster will be your biggest success, not Elite Dangerous.
So it would be nice to have a community manager who is able to give 100% the time he has to the most important game at the moment. Not just to hear what the community wants, also to make sure that our ideas get implemented in the game.
I'm also a little bit confused and disappointed that they didn't start to work on the 3rd party implementations.
If this feature will be not in the game, I think I would still like that game very much. But I would not play it as much as I would with the feature. And there's a big difference...
Some more information about this feature would be nice in dev diary #3 to calm down the community.
its sad though, because many people know what rctw is, but not planet coaster.[knockout][knockout]You are sooooo much right ...
but hey, he didnt say they are not working on the 3rd party implamentations (or the "custom content manager", or whatever we can call it). He say "Please note that I am not confirming or denying the existence of such support." which is more like a "maybe yes, maybe not, but we heard you"
I think they know that is a very important point for the game, and what can make the difference. I'm sure they know (they are the dev of RCT3, so it's IMPOSSIBLE they dont understand this fact)
And you are right, Planet Coaster will be your biggest success, not Elite Dangerous. I guarantee this too ! I can bet one month's salary on it, eyes closed.
Let's spam the whole comment section of RCTW [squeeeeee] (I didn't said it!)its sad though, because many people know what rctw is, but not planet coaster.[knockout][knockout]
for elite dangerous, its actually doing pretty good, its not exactly "popular", but it has a good amount of fans.
I live in America, and I know the level of disappointment that Atari has generated, both with its Beta weekend, which was rife with bugs and lack of features, and its decision to delay the release of RCTW. (which was a good decision from most people's perspective) From what I have seen, there can be no comparison. I pre-ordered Planet Coaster before spending any money on RCTW, and more and more as time goes on, I feel that I have made the correct decision.
+1I understand Frontier's answer for the moment, and know we'll just need to be patient.
But in the meantime...I'm sure the folks at Frontier have visited some of the many RCT3 sites and have seen some of the CSO created. There's literally hundreds of sets available, limited to only what people can think up in order to create their vision. The idea that Frontier will be able to provide the same depth and width of items covering such a wide assortment of themes I can't quite believe. While I have no doubt but that Frontier won't be able to come up with some fantastic themed sets, they'd be hard pressed to cover them all.
CSO in RCT3 was troublesome because it was never officially supported, and thus it was always hit and miss in figuring it out. In fact many things in the game STILL haven't been figured out...and not for a lack of trying.
It's my own opinion that the addition of custom content lengthened the time many people continued to play by years. And that also was reflected in sales. How many of us who've played since RCT3 first came out have multiple copies? I certainly do, both on disc and downloaded. Many people got interested in the game for the first time when they saw some of the work of people like Leonidas or belotto, who created true works of art using the game.
Additional content designed and sold or released by Frontier is great, but it will never be enough. Rather than the problems inherent in custom content in RCT3 also having to be dealt with in PC, I'm really hoping that Frontier will support the community creating their own as well.
