Game Discussions Cyberpunk 2077 - official gameplay

Well, thats me finished my first playthrough. About 120hrs in total, thoroughly enjoyed it, even if the ending I got was a downbeat yet bittersweet one.
The endings are kind of a downer in general. Not that they're bad, quite the opposite, but it kind of bothers me that we can't get one that's a proper happy ending. I know, I'm sappy.
Bittersweet is the best we can get. Kind of reminds me of my favourite westerns. Riding into the sunset and all.

That's expected from any Cyberpunk genre work - these are heavily pessimistic, by definition. I know I would have been really disappointed by any hollywood-style happy ending.

I know. Well, I will have to dream that Victor's insulation will hold for at least a couple of years instead of months. :)

Did you get the secret ending ? (will not even spoil it in case you didnt) I think it's the best one overall considering the situation... (edit) you know you've got it if you have that mission named after a Blue Öyster Cult song.

I know of five endings. Three of them I got in my three playthroughs,

Panam path and then leaving with Judy (cos' FemV) and the Nomads is my favourite and closest to the "happy ending" I'm gonna get, I think.
Johnny and Rogue ending is just sad.
Johnny storming the tower on his own is epic as hell and probably my second favourite ending, albeit also depressing.

The other two ending I know of are just commiting suicide and siding with Hanako. Both awful and something MY V would never consider, so I've only read about them.
That's all the endings I'm aware of.

My future playthroughs will all probably end on a Panam path.

Yeah that's all of them. You cited the "secret" one as it's only unlocked under certain conditions (specific answers you give to Johnny during his side quests) and it's IMHO the best outcome ( you go out in a blaze of glory and all of your friends survive)

Yeah, I guess you can look at it that way. :)

New system arriving soon so I can start looking at games produced after 1835.

How's CP2077 looking at the moment?

I'm playing through it now and it's really good. Enjoying it a lot! No bugs at all, maybe apart from an occasional glitch with graphics or an NPC, but very rarely.

A few small annoyances though, but those can be easily fixed with mods, which is great.

Latest patch is 1.23, and (at least for me), as sprawling open world type games go, it's pretty stable... though I'm sure there's probably still loads of bugs lurking around. Nothing game breaking though - no crashes or obvious glitches.

Supposedly (according to leaks/game file hacks) there's some free DLC coming soon, but CDPR have not confirmed yet.

Cheers both :)

Will stick it on a wish list for now.

The next patch is due any day now and could be huge (it’s been near on 2 months since the last patch), it’s very stable now 😃.

I only have it on my Pro where it was a fairly unpleasant mess pre patch 1.2, may invest in a PC copy one day as it is an exceptional game, maybe when it’s on sale with all DLC in a year two.

Most of the issues remaining now are small or insignificant QOL glitches.

I've given up on playing it. Tried 4 times and I can't gel with it, thematically the game massively attracts me but theres just something off with it all that repels me after a while.
By the time I get to the 20 hour mark I just cant face booting it up anymore.

Oh well.

Cheers both :)

If you can pick it up in a sale, it's definitely recommended, but I kinda see where @Jezzah is coming from also.

It's a wonderfully realised setting, and a truly great story, but I think it's the lack of 'life' in the NPCs that will just randomly spawn that breaks the fourth wall a bit (for me). I hope that can be improved upon.

And it's fine, really, no different to most games - but you can have quite involved and long-standing relationships with other NPCs, so the random bullet sponges kinda jar. 🤷‍♀️

Couple of other useful mods:

To me, it’s a bit like Borderlands, but with futuristic realism, so I’m thinking RoboCop meets Bladerunner and so on.

It wears its influences well.

I was definitely waiting for a sale. Burnt too often by them. If you can call 3 times too often

It does, it's also a really holistic approach to what "Cyberpunk" is - they really went to the fundamentals there, and stick to that, a bit like imposed figure skating, they thought of it like an exercise of what is the pure definition of the term. Or I could say they established a very thematic base, upon which they'll build more interesting stories with the DLC and such. (we have a glimpse of that potential in some of the really good side stories..).
I can see how this purity of approach would turn off a lot of people who are not die hard fans of the genre.
