Game Discussions Cyberpunk 2077 - official gameplay

That doesnt answer my question ;) They just upgraded REDengine so it can support path tracing so it's not quite dead yet. They will also release a DLC for CP2077 this year (if things go as planned) that is also using REDengine. TW3 had 2 big DLC, will they make another DLC for CP2077 (so both engines will coexist for still quite a while) or start over with UE5 and a new game ?
As I heard RedEngine will phase out and UE will replace it for further new game projects.

I’m pretty sure CDProjekt have confirmed that Phantom Liberty will be the sole expansion for CP2077. Project Orion is the CP sequel and will likely use UE5.

Ok thanks for the info - Interesting code name, reminds of Blade Runner monologue from Roy ("I've seen things you people wouldn't believe... Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion...")
Shoulder of Orion is just a reference to star - how you call it? - Sternbilder. Great bear has paw and muzzle and Orion has a belt, too. Tannhäuser Gate, however, that is a fictional original name with clear reference to Blade Runner. Roy sees these ships on fire in direction of Orion in the sky. He's an educated man - most wouldn't know where Orion actually is - nor be able to find it under a different sky.

aww. That is definitely the Blade Runner reference. Don't think I ever saw in game.

I tried to get in every Megabuilding in one run. I think I got most but I dint really note it down. Some are kinda closed.
I actually found it by accident. Had gotten a little bored with the katana build I was using so just stopped doing the missions and went exploring.

I think it's the only easter egg from any game that I've found without going looking specifically for it.

Lt. Mower is basically Moto Kasanagi and the Cyberpsycho fight in that area recreates the fight in the water in Ghost in the Shell. Well not really an easter egg but the game is full of references to other stuff.
There is a dead guy in a fridge like Indy Jones - an easter egg also available in FO4. (and probably in many other games)

Marketing will be picking up soon for Phantom Liberty, I think it’s the 8th when we’ll get the next info/trailer and potentially a shadow drop of patch 1.7 after the Summer Game Fest…. Lets see!

It’s all looking absolutely fantastic.

The base game will be getting a significant refresh to pretty much every system come September as well when PL releases.

Just note the system specifications are increasing when the patch & expansion releases.

A shame, as I'd say it's objectively the better engine at this time.

Still, at least we have other studios still investing in solid bespoke engine tech. Northlight, Snowdrop, Void, etc. -not you, Creation Engine- keeping the unreal-ification of games at bay.

iirc too the PL kicks in when the main game gets to its 'no turning back' moment, and that PL introduces a new ending (I assume its the little vid messages rather than a whole new one) based on what you do / save.

Just need an SSD now for my old PC

From what's been revealed so far, it looks like PL's missions become available once you complete M'ap Tann Pèlen, and then essentially add a fourth Act 2 arc running concurrently with Takemura, Judy, and Panam's questlines, culminating in additional options once you reach Nocturne Op55N1

Let's see if this time I can resist the temptation to build up V to a netrunner with a side order of engineering. But those high level spells quickhacks are just too sweet. See through walls, then drop in a legendary Contagion and go for a coffee. When you come back, all is nice and quiet.

Old school Shadowrun Security Rigger. Tap into the local cameras, and you know how your partner always taught you, "go into a room too fast, the room eats you"? Well, I AM the room, kid.

Melee might be a more viable full playstyle option given all the new stuff coming for Katana’s (ability to deflect bullets at range with a new skill when blocking, and can use a Katana whilst on a Motorcycle), Mantis Blades (loads of new animated finishers), Mono Wire, and Gorilla Arms, there’s a lot more for Melee coming in this upgrade.

The new police system sounds absolutely fantastic, cannot wait to try out getting wanted and trying to escape their various pursuits.
You are also meant to be able to listen in to the police and can work out where they are and what they’re doing (mentioned in an interview I’ve watched).

I’ll believe this one when I see it for myself.
