Game Discussions Cyberpunk 2077 - official gameplay

I really must get round to watching some play-throughs of this. I used to play in back in the late 80s, first edition RPG (pencil and paper obviously!)

First character I rolled up was a Net Runner; would have to go down that route as my first character.

Seems like others here who played the original game had the same brutal theme that ours did!

Mmm looks like there might be a multiplayer mod, if there is has anyone tried it? Thinking about co-op.

Scratch that, turns out no co-op mod.

They're not the same era though, RED is the years following the 4th corporate war, roughly covering the 2030s and 40s
It's still decades before the Unification War and the Arasaka intervention in Night City that leads to the corporation being welcomed back into the city, and leading to the massive expansion period of the early 2070s.

Slaps forehead

You're absolutely right. I r an idiot. :D

Don't know why I got it in my head that RED was set in 2077.

Been looking at the new build planner (https://www.cyberpunk.net/en/build-planner) and I'm rather looking forward to the new options. May take a little to get head wrapped around the new stuff.

Only decision is whether to take a proper look when 2.0 drops or just wait till PL arrives a few days later for a new run through.

As a revolver heavy player I dunno how I feel about that tree change, looks very against my playstyle.

Looking forward to the changes on Sandy builds, and see if Mantis Blades have been fixed (*) or if katana is still the only option... Also did they keep the requirement in Tech in order to wear high end legendary equipment (which is always crafted) ?

(*) canned 1-hit kill animation that doesnt stop time = instant death in a firefight in highest difficulty mode.

(edit) oof the new "licence to chrome" skill in Tech is a must have for heavy chrome builds (like my Sandevistan build)
(edit2) ok they have completely changed the skill tree. Sandy build is now 20 Reflex + 20 Tech Ability. There's enough points with the expansion to diversify and add a 2nd role to the character like a stealth ability (with Cool). Example:
(valid without the expansion)
One could go with everything for the launcher system (with the Pyromania tree) I can see how it could work with the Sandy build.

Netrunner is so OP in CP77, you can basically go full spider and just turn a building entirely against your adversaries inside it from afar, hopping from camera to camera turning turrets upon their allies. Or just daisy chaining suicide hacks and hacking folks' implants to make them go berserk.

Whether it will still be as OP once 2.0/PL hits remains to be seen. Happy if they've dialled it back a bit, just hoping they haven't gone to far.

I like how you don't need tech 20 to craft all the stuff now. Also looks better organized for focus on what you want to play.

Anyone know what time 2.0 is available from tomorrow? Would ask on the official forums but I get stuck in an infinite captcha loop when I try and register so I gave up.

from the Discord:
RedStream: 21. Sep 2023 14:00 UTC
2.0: Sep 21 / Will be near the end of the RedStream.

Netrunning has changed. Massively. Still trying to decide is it's a good change or not. Think I'm going to have to start a fresh game to decide properly. Didn't really want to do that until PL dropped on the 26th.

Certainly my current V feels considerably weaker than she did

... Cyberpunk ... 1) cdpr! yay! 2) The collectiors edition costs as much as a ps4? Screw it. 3) The game launched terribly, forgot it. 4) 1.6 got positive reviews and no good games had been released for years.. okay. 5) Picked up a new copy of the pc version on ebay for $20 6) Decided to wait for the xpansion.. which arrived!

Just wanted say.. on my 1080ti.. and overclocked 2500k (4 cores!!!) i'm able to get a very, very nice 30-60fps at 1080p.. i know its an older game, but its in the next league of playable compared to starfield. The experience never dips below 30 even in city car chases, and because its cpu bottlnecked completely, its very smooth. It hits 60 at these settings very often.

Might actually play this game :)
