Why does my question about a refund keep getting deleted?

Duplicate questions are being deleted. As stated in the OP, we need to keep duplication to a minimum - repeatedly asking the same question slows everything down and reduces the total amount we can get done. Before posting, please read the thread to make sure your question hasn't been asked.

Feel free to PM the mod team if you feel a post was really unique, but we're a bit busy right now so may not be able to answer right away if the answer is "no".

David, I don't think we've seen much of this unfolding environment in the Beta yet. The missions and in B3 seem pretty static, and a long way from the compelling online experience you describe. How much of this will be new for Gamma?

That's because we're not playing this yet... we're testing some of the core features /facepalm

Yet another one: as there's hella lot of people asking, it's understandable you'll miss some questions. So let's say you missed mine (and I think you actually did, that it isn't ignoring lol), how can I get answer to my question? Even if it has to be asked later?

First - thank you and your team for the great game!

Second - will we see some characters in stations (in shipyard, on landing platform, etc.) as seen in some earlier video published? Or it is intended for some future expansion (with some additional "life" around)?

Any plans for more bobbleheads?

<----- Maybe even a Repton bobblehead? Go on, I'm sure Richard Hanson and the good folks at Superior wouldn't mind... :D

When you played Elite on the train did you use a HOTAS and if you haven't done so can you do it and take a picture? Can i have a signed copy of it?

Hi David,

looking forward to meet you again on Saturday, hopefully with more time to chat then at gamescom :)

here is my question:

What is the status of the companion APP for Ipad/Android etc. will it launch with the game or later? I only bought an Ipad for that purpose ^^

cheers
Tiggo

David,

Are we going to get special missions (like the constrictor one in the original Elite) or do we only have the missions that are on the BBS?

Btw.. It's jumper weather you know ;)

Hi David,

Thank you for taking the time to answer our questions.

Could you tell me how well prepared your servers are for the lanuch? I am sure you are aware of every game that has required a persistent internet connection have always had a bad lanuch due to connection issues and overloaded servers which have cast a dark shadow on them.

Do you think your servers a preapared for a problem free lanuch?

Have you played the game? Why is the offline (as opposed to single player, which I understand) mode so important to you?
For many of us, we pledged a large amount of money because we believed we'd still be able to play the game if FD went under. I personally would not have pledged to that level without such an assurance. Also, the premium box set reward is now worthless to me on those terms. In short, I haven't received the game I pledged for.

I'll continue to support the game, I'll definitely be playing it, but I do feel that it's important that you understand why some of us are unhappy with the situation.

If I may say this for myself:

Now, I know MMOs are popular, fancy and lucrative these days, but
don't you think that you are pushing it just too far with your MMO
only (tunnel) vision?
I am not an online multiplayer game player, never have been and never will be.

Sometimes i need to check the baby, answer the phone or door or do
some work. And now I can not even pause or save the game and continue
the battle in progress later. I want an immersive experience and that
doesn't include other gamers.

I also want to play the game where I don't have an internet
connection, and when the FD servers are down (or have been shutdown,
or FD no longer exists). I don't want to rent my game, I want to buy
it, no forced authentication, no DRM, no server connection. Reason ??
Except from constant bullying and incomodating your customers?!
Simply for long term assurance the player will be able to play the
game long into the future regardless of what happens to FD, without
wishing to sound horrible but if the company folds one day (as many
games studios sadly do over time) the game can still be played for
many years to come, and maybe even be modified and supported by the
community if the developer is no longer in a position to do it
themselves, there is many such games still being played today with
this exact scenario where the original developer & publisher have long
gone but the game still lives on supported by a dedicated community,
having a game which is solely dependant on the survival of either
makes me very nervous, history proves this sadly. Not to mention
server overloads, connection failures, high ping or simply lack of
internet access while we are on the trip or somewhere where internet
is not available.

So that is why offline mod is important for many players

Hello David,

I actually have a few questions, some of them about game play/options and some of them about the future of Elite: Dangerous:

1. Will there be an interface for players to define their own missions (for others)? E.g. as a miner, would it be possible to hire a prospector to find me a nice unknown solar system with a lot of resources (or specific resources)?

2. As somebody who uses GlovePIE (a free voice command software), I would really like to see more key bindings (or any other way to activate some functions), since right now, it is e.g. nearly impossible to get something like "Send out a docking request" implemented (especially if using a head tracking device at the same time), or e.g. to divert all power to the engines (which needs 4 "key clicks" on the "divert power to engines" key). Will something like this be implemented later on?

3. Nothing is forever, and I know it's quite early, but what is the exit strategy for Elite: Dangerous once the servers are getting to expensive for keeping them running? E.g. will you release some kind of server which people can use as a base for modding and running their own galaxies at that time?

Thanks for taking the time to answer all those questions from everybody! :)

I am sorry that people are so upset about it

Hire some PR guys .. or fire the ones you have .. Whilst in time many will forgive and forget this episode I wouldn't want for you guys to repeat it : I believe in your dream; backed it to an insane amount; and don't want to regret that decision.

The developers have done an OUTSTANDING job - I like ED - it's fun.

You guys still have a long way to go in order to flesh it out but at least where we are today is a good starting point.

By the way - I accept any cargo : just remember the eject button is on the right .. there's a good chap. HaHarr! :D

Highly appreciate the presence and your time, Mr Braben.

Could you share any information on the dynamic background simulation and how exactly player actions influence the world?

Many thanks...

What is the future for the 'game extras' section of the store?

Can you, for example, guarantee that the selling of in-game items will be limited to cosmetic items only, or can we expect to see, e.g., ships, weapons, missions sold for cash in the future?

Hi Mr David, there is some plan for selling scale models of different ships? if so we can wait for the release? would be a very good Christmas gift. thank you very much.

Are we going to see the individual contacts that were outlined in the DDF stages, or will the game be sticking with the current general faction standing?
