Firstly David, thanks for an amazing game.

What has been the most most fun part of the game for you guys, to develop?

Hello David, many thanks for taking the time to answer some of our questions. Kickstarter backer from day one here and loving the game!
Looking forward past game release, will we get a time line to landings, walking about ships ect...?

Hi David,
Being new to Elite and space simulators in general, I began researching a few different games specifically Star Citizen and Elite. Among many other reasons, I personally chose Elite as I didn't like SC's money farming techniques on their website and the pay 2 enjoy model. How do you hope to get more people like me to make the 'right' decision and chose Elite: Dangerous?

We have no intention of taking the servers down, but I understand what you are getting at. We plan to archive the game from time to time (ie matching client and servers and game world state), and would release such an archive if the servers were to come down. That would also address the issue of how you preserve an online game for the future, from the whole 'retro' perspective.

This is the most amazing news of the day. Thank you.

Diamonds all round! :D

Mr. Braben ...

Would you be kind enough to put in some crew department numbers ? .. (how many developers, how many texture designers, sound engineers ... )

I don't have any idea about these numbers and would really like to know ...

regards

Armnado

Hello David,

How do you see Elite in Virtual Reality era?
Will you add support for google cardboard' like VR helmets (smartphone based) for Elite (non standard SBS mode)?

I think VR will be future in next 5-10 years, for now vr scene fighting with cardboard-smartphones, oculus, and headtracking, ED could be pioneer on this matter.

P.S.
Thanx for good work and good game, i cant wait premiere! Walk the line ;)

Hi David,
.
So excited about the game and what you have achieved. It truly is a masterpiece.
.
One of my favourite elements of the game are the space stations. They really give me a deep sense of immersion and are stunningly intricate.
.
My question for you :
.
How long does it take to realise a space station from initial concept art through to in engine entity ?

A fairly common complaint across Reddit and this forum is that what equipment and trade commodities will be for sale at stations feels 'random'. Are you happy with the how understandable the background simulation is to players as it is now? If not, are there plans to improve this?

Hi David. Many thanks for taking your time to answer questions and, even though I'm disappointed about offline, I would prefer FD to make a brilliant subscription-free game. So far you've all exceeded my expectations.

Anyway, with regard to offline, what will happen to ED when the servers are eventually shut down? Oh, ninja'd! :)

I'd love to be able to play ED well into my dotage (even if my brain is wired up to a PC to play it), but without online access this would be impossible.

Hey, CMDR B.

I recently purchased a Sidewinder skin from the microtransaction storefront. At 5$, I felt like I was caving pretty hard for some pretty designs that I rarely get to see. Are there plans in the future that would allow us to see our spaceships, more?

Are you planning to release more bobbleheads on the microtransaction store?

Will any of these items ever be available for in-game credits?

Hi David, just like to say thank you for allowing us to ask you questions and i personally wish to thank you and the team for what looks like to be the Greatest Space sim ever.
I'm impatient and time feels like it is walking on crutches, can you please just move the 22nd to the 20th ?
