Horizons David why did you kill the game rewards !?

its possible its intentional i suppose to force us to do the new stuff... but that sounds a bit tinfoil hat to me.

Call me naive but i like to assume the devs are not liars, so if they say "its an issue, we are aware of it and are looking into fixing it" i choose to trust them.

If its a genuine bug, then all well and good...but as things are now, I'll find something else to distract me while they sort it. The update itself isn't the main issue...I was already becoming more and more frustrated before this update. But the supposedly bugged missions was the final nail so to speak. I've done beta testing elsewhere and to have bugs of this sort make it onto a live server is not what one would consider inspiring. It's really not about the money...I've made most of my money through exploration data, which happens to be one the least effective ways of making money...so if yer gonna flame me fer this, then knock yerself out.

I am not flaming (or not intentionally anyway) anyone...... just imo - and this isnt just aimed at you - before flying off the handle at the game, or the people posting about the game, look in a mirror and consider if you are about to fall in the same trap as the people you are about to chastise (and yes I do the same thing myself sometimes :) )

PS I agree this kind of thing (destroying practically all delivery mission payouts) should never have made it out of beta

I have screen shot evidence of a secure information delivery being offered at HP10716 for 80 CR can anyone beat that? is the new game challenge for 2.2.

Switch your game play I think is the lesson for today, back to Imp grind maybe?

since 2.2 the rewards decreased by 80% (elite rank data delivery for example) but the insurance / maintenance Remains the same .

The result is pretty easy to understand >>> we can't play the game with our best ship anymore because the time spent to get money it's just insane with that release.

David My question for you

Did you really play your game like we are playing ?

I don't think so and i hope you change your mind about rewards before The players go elsewhere.

Exactly the same thing as I was thinking - especially with Titan Fall 2 being released tomorrow !
Investment in time when playing a game is something quite special.
 
I notice that the passenger missions are paying a few hundred grand and even a few million...ITS NO BUG. What they want is to push players into doing passenger runs and buying cabins and big ships to use the new passenger schemes. David Lewis is David Lewis and will always be David Lewis no matter what!

I suddenly realized this some moments ago when looking at the mission boards and then passenger boards at some station I was at. Dropping of lots and lots of freight for 95 grand in total after 3 jumps..wot da     !
Also I saw a Boom Time Data mission 23 Light Years for 3,500 cr lol. Have even seen the same for like 1,750 cr...yeah right.

If is a bug please forgive me , but if it's not; is more big mistaque you've done !

Because you have the best space opera community , all here support your work and DEv Team , so please stay listening to your community.

and forget about grinders ; because they are all playing another game, paying ships before the game release :x , so thanks to let us the hope of becoming rich again with ED.

I wondered that yesterday after seeing the credits being paid for passenger missions. Maybe a way to force us to try it? Interesting strategy if that is the case! :)

I really don't understand all the resistance to doing Passenger Missions. They are basically cargo hauling missions with a different UI applied. The Sightseeing missions are actually a new mission type and are really fun to do. Not only because you end up visiting systems and seeing things you might not normally see on your own, but because all of these various passenger missions are paying a crap load of $$ at the moment! You need to be allied with the issuing faction to get the highest paying versions.

And all you need for the Sightseeing missions is a well upgraded FSD drive on either an Asp X or an Anaconda. That can cut the travel times in half or better, and this makes these one of the most profitable missions in the game. If you don't have a Grade 5 upgraded FSD, then just take on a bunch of the point A to B passenger missions. Those pay as high as 4 million credits for an under 50 Ly jump and about 5-10 minutes of your time.

So I think everyone complaining about the low payouts on conventional missions should definitely start doing the passenger missions instead. If credits is what you need, how about 20 million for 90 minutes of your time? That is how much I made the other night doing two Sightseeing missions and two A to B single passenger drops.

Personally, I am not focused on credits right now because I have more than enough. I am working on getting my Alliance Rep up to Friendly so I can work with the new Engineer Bill Turner. I want to get my Anaconda's jump range back up to 57 Ly like I had in the Beta. ;)

I halfway wearing my tin foil hat while sitting in my lead-shielded office, but such an obvious drop in payouts, IMHO, is not accidental. The devs are far from being so careless as to let this glaring bug slip by.

But to be honest, I am too busy with other aspects of the game to even bother with missions or passenger runs, the only passenger runs I did in Beta were refugees, they didn't complain and said thank you when you got them to their destination. I am making money, having fun letting myself be interdicted by Elite FDL/Anaconda NPC's while I go about my bizness, I even bait them with engineer stuff in my cargo hold. Got a $384k bounty on one, my personal best.

The only missions I run are at home base where I am allied, when they pay enough.

Lemons make the best lemonade.

So how is a weekend player supposed to earn enough now to buy a capital ship one day? it would take about Two years to grind cargo for 600 million.
 
Well, I guess it's a good thing then that players can't buy/fly/control capital ships.

In all seriousness though, FD already said they are looking into mission payouts. The current state is not intended.

I was glad about the payout-boost in 2.1.
Finally missions got worth doing it. Even sothis wasn't OP.
My Annie costs 30mil in rebuy, if i loose her twice a day because i fatfingered something or was just too stupid to see the situation, i should be able to regain this money in about 1 or 2 days of playing. I have 5 hours a day. I don't want to spent these 5 hours ONLY to regain my insurance.

It was all okay, now it is a great risk flying a Python. Especially things like combat zones or bountyhunting are "don't touch, you will regret!" sort of gameplay because you loose more than you earn if you die only once a week.

Missions and payout in 2.1 were absolute okay, only thing i really miss is robigo. It was really really fun to do. And sometimes we simply need a cash injection after we had a bad day.
Now....after a bad day we have to play for a month just to get back the insurance [wacko]

My Annie 30mil insurance

Trade: 10mil/h

3 hours of trading only the best stuff to get it back

Combat/bountyhunting: about 2-3mil/h
No PP bonus
About 10 hours to rebuy the Annie

Mining: 2-3mil/h with a mining python (8mil rebuy itself)
Also 10 hours of mining stuff WITHOUT dying just to rebuy Annie

Missioning: 2.1 = 5-10mil/h 2.2 = 50k/h - ?/h

Don't even think about, never able to rebuy, never able to even buy this ship

This had never a payout worth talking about

I wonder if they will also fix the "get it here in 00 minutes" bug...

its a segue but....

I am sure this was fixed ages ago, and then found its way back in again. I went months without seeing the 00min bug, and then about a month ago, they seemed to pop up again..............all the bloody time!.

(on the bright side my last 2 timed updates have actually worked! )

With current missions and low payout , Frontier (dont call David , because he can moderate me again :p ) you are making the game easy for CIG because you are forcing people to play SC .

Trust me , I'm backer of SC since 2013 and already invest 800 € and if you ask me before that 2.2 what i was thinking about the best space game; My answer was ED for 2 reasons

First : Better community
Second: You can have your dream Ship in short time and having fun .

and currently, the second reason does not exist with 2.2
 
I used to love doing all kinds of missions.
Many of them now pay so little that they are just not interesting anymore.
It disrupts my game play quite seriously.
I now stopped doing missions completely and do a bit of bounty hunting.
I am a bit at a loss trying to find a new way of playing the game.
