At this pace we'll never get an official useless response, you guys aren't even trying and I am inclined to believe the BGS isn't actually that broken. If this would be about a serious issue, like fixing an exploit that hardly affects anyone, we would've reached the required 60 pages in minutes. I'd say that less than 2.8% of the BGS are seriously broken.
Clearly 4.0 is going to be "ED: Maintenance" - on the ship side, massively expanded wear-and-tear and module damage mechanisms, AFMUs and repair limpets replaced with fully-detailed minigames to repair hull and modules. On the BGS side, a more detailed economy which requires players to actively support it to keep trade, station facilities and even system populations from collapsing. What do the "maintenance mode" believers think the next DLC is going to be?

C'mon, there needs to be more toy-throwing and feet-stamping than this to bait a dev response!
I'd say the BGS affects everyone, even if you don't 'play' it. The BGS is an energy field created by all living things. It surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds the galaxy together.
