De-Americanize it (& Queues)

I would love in future versions to see a lot less 'Americanisms'. Like the money is $, you say Pay Check instead of Cheque etc.
I don't want my park to use dollars or be American at all. Since this game is made by British devs, why did they go with the American stuff?

I think they should make up their own universal currency like The Sims do with Simoleons. I'm British and really don't want to use dollars in my parks. Not everywhere is America you know???

[cry] Also, for the love of my sanity please, please make connecting ride ticket booths to queue paths and street paths easier. It drives me insane [wacky]. I spend way to much time with paths. (I would love a grid too, straight lines can be pretty too, also helps when moving things on axis to know where I am in the world)

Thanks for possibly reading

The "$" symbol is also used in Mexico, Australia, Argentina, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Pacific Island nations, and English-speaking Canada, no?

Yes. I imagine they've chosen that because its a universal currency symbol really and I have no problem with it. If they used £ nobody would know what it means unless they live here.

Yeah and if you go by the word "dollar" history, you can add even more countries to the list. Sweden had Riksdaler and the "daler" part is indeed dollar. ;) But then in 19th century we changed to Krona (crown).

But of course this is just splitting hairs..

I can see the point of the original poster, though. In earlier RCT games we had option of change of many things.. money sign, metric system/imperial etc.

But if they want to stick to dollar+american style language then let them do it. Their choice.

But I agree about the "Planco" version of simoleons. :)

I see it different. Planet Coaster is already some kind of its own world. Our Guests speak and own Language: "Planco" and i think we should come up with an own currency. Its just logical.

I imagine that the ability to change currency and measurement and all of those things wil be a feature in the final build. Makes more sense to be focusing development time into things more consequential than what currency symbol is used for now.

Does it even matter?

Its just a value that is spent. It could have no symbol at all and it would function in the same way. $3,473.20 is the same as 3,473.20...

Its not like the game would convert the currency...

I find it odd that they favor American spellings and currency, but then all measurements are metric...

But they're not. Coaster speed is displayed as MPH somewhere, but I get your point. The way it is just now doesn't make any sense at all having a mix of imperial and metric, there needs to be a user setting for changing the units to suit personal preference.

I undestand what you're saying but i'm pretty sure they'll add an option to change currency, i'm British and i wouldn't mind if i had to use dollars in ...a ... game. Worse comes to worse just mentally work out the exchange rate. [up][up]

Make Planet coaster great again! Stop this americanism, build that Wall to stop their pesky little Dollars infiltratin our wonderfull Planetcoasterian Lands.

Am sure they will add what currency you cab use in the game to match your own country money sign. As they did in the past RCT games as well under the options section.

i am offended by this thread, but what can i say, we are talking about the U.K that drive on the wrong side of the road. As an american some of these comment's tick me off.so i am gonna blow it right back.[mad]
