Dear Diary, today I bought a Fleet Carrier...

I don't know, but I purchased the Adder/Hauler package for my carrier. And its a constant source of sales, for the same reason indicated in your screenshot.
Quick question, I can't find a definitive answer on this.. Shipyard Service, can you change the price of ships yourself? Or are they bought and sold at stock price only? Which doesn't make sense as there would be no profit...

Yeah I was about to complain about the "Enter Grind". Although I'm afraid if I use a 3rd party tool to automate the hit-enter process, I'll be breaking my internal EULA. It is working as intended, obviously, and I just have to continue being a slave to the grind. How do I make it stop?? I will run out of Netflix soon.

:D S

Make it multiplayer.
Transfer your spreadsheet to a public Google Docs folder and other people will press Enter for you. It'll even happen when you're offline.

There are CMDRs with Fleet carriers. And there is me. It looks something like this:

BTW - gz on buying one. Another example that if you're famous people will throw money at you for your entertaqinment. We, regular pople have to work for it the usual way. Oh well, benefits from fame, I guess.

There's a slider in the management options to apply a % tariff to all services rendered on your FC.

*Disclaimer: while I own an FC, I haven't installed the shipyard service so I don't know for sure if there's another mechanic in place there

So how is day 2 of Your New Life™ with a FC?
I've actually been enjoying myself! My main focus has been building a new fleet specifically for carrier-based exploration, while also tweaking my current fleet for the Bubble, just in case there's a CG while I'm out there. The idea is that I use my ZPM-powered "Atlantis Stargate" Sidewinder to quickly gate back to "earth" if something happens while I'm out there, and I'll have my main combat ship, multipurpose ship, and cargo hauler all stored away in garage back home ready to go.

But I'm not ready to leave the Bubble yet. I'm still experimenting with my Carrier (I didn't bother with the betas, so everything is new to me), and I'm actually having some success in trading, services, etc. My biggest beef is that unless you trade in LTDs or Tritium, there's just no way to break even, let alone earn credits, using all these services that carriers offer. I wish Frontier had come up with a different mechanism than high upkeep costs to deal with abandoned carriers - something like parking tickets. While I have plenty of credits in the bank to cover upkeep, it does take away some of the fun of providing commodities and services when I know I'm doing so at a loss. Who operates a store at a constant loss IRL? There's like 100 commodities, yet only two of them are profitable (give or take a few like Painite). What if I want to be a simple grocery store selling vegetables? Sorry, no money there! Funny thing is, a system in a state of famine ought to be offering more for food-related goods than diamonds. You can't feed your starving children shiny rocks!

What I don't get is, if you have an alt, why all this juggling between the bubble and the black? Why don't you just send your main out there with the FC and do the bubble related stuff further building up the alt account?

Edit: Oh, Jenny is on PS4, isn't she? Still, starting another PC account may be more practical in the long run.
My own alt is puttering around Colonia and doesn't care much about becoming a multi-billionaire.

I did alts on PS4 this way, and it really doesn't fit my play style - too schizophrenic for me. I prefer being one CMDR with one life & story. It's okay, fleet carriers allow me to have my exploration cake and eat the Bubble cake too!

Testing out my new bomber, though I did a rubbish job catching the cool carpet bomb explosions. Beware barnacles and brain trees, I'm coming for you!

I know some of it is, if you go digging, but what I'm particularly interested in is seeing at a glance how much income I'm making from all my various services on a daily basis. Right now I've been writing down my balance on paper so I can see that it's going up. Even in the journal there are things missing like income from UC (unless it's under my nose).

I can write a little script to extract this data from the journal files and turn it into a graph, but it sure would be nice if this stuff were built into the carrier management system.

About the best you can get (I think) is in the Codex, at the bottom of your CMDR's stats. But no UC there, unfortunately.

I did not know this existed! Very good, that is a help. I will still likely write a very small, quick app to show me day-to-day income, just so I have an idea of what traffic my FC seeing.

Are you registered with Inara? If so then that site does it all for you. It might be a few hours out of date at times, but the summary data is all there.

Yes! And even if you're not present on your carrier you can see whether anyone has visited it because the station/market information has a refresh date.

Sort of.

I have EDMC installed and it goes off every time I open it, and on the carrier and sometime just randomly, so I'm never quite sure if it was me or someone else.
