I'm telling you Havvk, no one uses those builds on Xbox. Some do but they are EXTREMELY rare.

By the way, side note, the ignorance towards griefers that is on display in this thread makes me want to throw up in my mouth.

Also its hilarious that you all are trying lump all griefers into the same boat. Sounds to me like this guy was just trying to toy with the OP and the OP is taking it way too seriously.
Especially by coming to this forum to try to shame griefers, you're actually being more of a salty child than the guy who griefed you, who was attempting to take on a Krait ii IN A COBRA IV!!!

Also OP, it does matter what system you were in and you should've included it in your post.

Doesn't really matter who the attacker in the Cobra was, the point is that the Cobra seemingly got all butthurt about his target fighting back.

To you, maybe. But to you, all non-combat players who even so much as comment about combat is crying and such. But what do I know?

All this... is exactly why I only play solo. Bunch of sqeekers trying to have fun at my expense. Far too much time is spent trying to earn money, and then another player sends me to the rebuy screen... no thank you.

If they solo mode ever disappears Fronties is going to need to rethink the the rebuy .

I had something similar happen a while ago. I was in a Chieftain experimenting with long range weapons.. Normally I am in solo when testing so I dont get any surprises, but accidentally logged into open. So you can imagine my surprise when in a res site I see a hollow triangle making a beeline directly at me.

It was some guy in a FAS, and I quickly looked at his loadout and saw all frags.. I though ahh. here we go.. And then boosted away just as his first few shots landed. I decided to boost and boost, and he messaged me on the coms. come and fight you chicken. I just hit faoff spun around 180 degrees and opened fire with long range weapons. I whittled his shields down first, as he continue to spout profanities at me, and calling me a coward and a noob because I wouldnt engage him in what he called a "fair" fight.. I just replied, this is fair, I am using tactics to counter your loadout.. He then said he was going to report me, After his shields dropped, he tried to run.. But I was faster than him.. I chased him, but remained at around 1.5 to 2km More profanities were launched in my direction as a few times I managed to trick him to turn around and chase me back into the asteriods where I knew he wouldnt be able to make a quick jump. Finally he wised up and realized there was no way he was going to win, as I still had one ring of shields and he had about 30% hull left, and decided to run.. So immediately I got in close behind him, and just laid into him.. At around 10% hull his ship suddenly glitched and disappeared.. He combat logged..

I just had to have a good laugh...

This is just classic immaturity on behalf of the griefer. That being said, OP should be a bit more restrained. These guys [griefers/gankers] are parasites, really. They're the in-game version of trolls. Don't feed them.

However, some are out there and will relish a challenge, especially if their intended target fights back. After all, it is Elite Dangerous. The door swings both ways in that regard. Tactics, strategy, loadouts, all come in to play in combat.

oh I’m sorry did you know him? Sounds like it...Well I can only laugh then! Also did you read? Cause I’m not saying "Stop running from a cobra lol" was the problem. I’m talking about the forth and back conversations after. Sure I should have ignored it cause what is the point of arguing with "professionals" who knows everything. I’m not saying all griefers are like that but in general. I have been interdicted 100 of times by "tough" cough cough! Players who wanted me dead and every time I won it was the same story. Weak mental abuse after... But hey if you can’t win the game then be pathetic after... But hey you think I’m taking it seriously. You know what maybe I am. But hey feel free to hunt me down. I only play open. Bring your friends. Let us make it an even fight. You bring a full wing of 4 in your best combat ships. I bring my worst mining ship alone. I will nuke you with my seismic charges only. If I win then don’t Bring me attitude after in the inbox telling me how unfair the fight was... But I’m sure your super A-Team can win against a non combat ship and player. Let the super battle begin... Btw I’m messing with ya right now. Don’t take the post seriously;)

Actually, you're a shining example of why open isn't so bad and why players don't need to hide in solo.
Escaping a player interdiction is pretty easy and you've proved it here.

How many times do I have to say this?

Not every attacker is a 5h1tfit derp-build cobra. There are dedicated gankwings that are just plain flat out inescapable. So quit making it sound like submitting and highwaking out is something a newbie can do in their first 5 minutes in a stock sidewinder.

@OP. I hate to say what I would have thought is obvious, but I will, and please dont take umbrage. They are call "griefers" for a reason, it just isnt a name, it's what they do. If they can't impose grief by destruction, they drop their pants just to make sure you know they are a donkey

Niels83, baiting is a part of griefing. he knew you are not in combat ship and tried to lure you into a trap :)

Dont talk. Just jump and problem solved. In RL a burglars are also baiting victims.
In that game its pretty easy to run. Just do it and don't care. Its a part of playing in open - you can just meet a space scum :) Kudos for playing in open, kudos for no combat logging.
If you would like to stay in open, what i recommend, just avoid places when you can meet someone unfriendly. I am considering it as simply additional gameplay what is requiring from me additional attention and more evasive gameplay.
And even if someone will give me a rebuy when i will not be prepared, just watching the stars - i don't mind - its a part of the game. It would only mean i was not smart enough :)

Oh trust me I only play open and always have, and I never Combat log. Griefers do make open exciting and dangerous. But I just shake my head sometimes when they get annoyed for not killing a non PvP player who survives the encounter. Plus I probably gave in to the trolling after I do admit. I was drunk flying lol. But I still survived though;) did I mention I was drunk lol

i have to admit when getting interdicted by FAS and FDL players I do get a bit scared. Cause you have much more firepower and speed. In fact I actually think you might be faster than me... So I will not have much time react. And usually I high wake at once. I’m not gonna try and "fight" I know my limits. Has kept me alive so far. But I better be careful if I encounter you if that is what you are flying;) o7

I didn’t bother to read your wall of text but my answer is- there is something so empowering and joyful about destroying someone’s ship that is undefended and it brings a sense of accomplishment to my heart.
