Ships Deep Plating?

Certainly. I do the "Pirate Lord" missions. I usually use my Python or Krait for them. Sometimes my FDL. I think I used the Vette once and was stupid simple kill. The "cans" I am just doing as target practice and rank. It does get rather mundane, to say the least.
This is what gets me or annoys me about this game and modern games in general. There is No (for want of a better term) Path. We have to take on an NPC Corvette in an Asp Scout to feel any sense of achievement.

Or deliver 5,000,000,000.00 tonnes of cargo to get a 'reward' I will not buy a carrier as long as we are penalised or have upkeep when on or offline

I would not like to be a developer as All the posts in this Forum point at the fact that "We are a Tough crowd" to please.

Cant do a Cyclops in a Fully engineered Krait MKII or Python. Gave up as what was it worth it to me to achieve it.
I'm not talking about credits I have those.

Once you kil that first Cyclops Interceptor (TL5) you'll see that it's not so bad. MY style is just go head on blasting. I take a good amount of damage, but escape with canopy intact and hull usally between a low of 30% or on a good day, might make it out with 90% left. Depends on how aggressive I get. The more aggressive, the more damage I take.

I have the wherewithal and materials to get the engineered 'shotgun' to do head on kills but I am sick and tired of these easier ways to make money/credits.

I'm lost as to what to say about the ongoing development of the game as it has recently been a struggle to just log on as I've seen it all before CG's (deliver, protect), Xeno, Guardians etc. etc.

I know that sounds detrimental to the game that I have thoroughly enjoyed but it is stagnating, I hope Odyssey breaths new life into it.

The problem i have with elite is that it has the breadth of an ocean, but the depth of a kiddy pool.
There is no really deep crafting system, there is not much in the way of hunting targets down, there is no tmuch to do at all in srvs, There is no like repeatable campaign like story to do.
Like I just want more things to do that are fun and rewarding not a grind of copy past content with a different faction name.

Now dont get me wrong Elite nails the space sim aspect, and generally the things you can do, are done very well. But there is just not much of that. Im hoping that with space legs that will spice things up.

I couldn't agree more. There needs to be LIFE in this game. Maybe Odyssey will bring some LIFE. I don't know. Elite does nail the "Flying a F**ing Space Ship" aspect pretty well and I spend most of my time, just Flying a space Ship, collecting MATS to fly "better" space ships. Missions are, for the most part, boring to me. I don't think I have lost any Assassination missions, and those are about the only missions I do. I will do other types when required for some unlock, but that's it. And of course, I do Robigo runs by the boat load, for money and G5's. I can sum up this game by saying it's both awesome and yet empty and strangely, addicting.

Can you send me the build of this Vette of yours? I'd love to see it, and maybe copy it. I can get the jump range up by adding a GFSD, but dropping my Vette to 3000 Shields didn't serve me well, at all. Anyway, I would love to see this build you have, that "wrecks everything easily" and has a Boost of 430. Thanks!

I'd like to as well considering a min-maxed Corvette racing build tops out at 434m/s. I'm going to say it was either a typo or misremembering.

Here is my PvE Corvette build that works extremely well: https://coriolis.io/outfit/federal_...setaYyOSyj/fsdD/vhu0TXkWmgQAAA==&bn=Imperator

Thanks. I like the mixture of FSD Booster for some range, and Collectors for, I assume, MATs dropped. I lose out on THOUSANDS of MATS when killing these NPC. MATS everywhere and no time to collect them. I've heard people say to add collectors, but does that really work, you can kill and collect at the same time, effectively? Also, the one thing I notice about this build is power management requirements seem pretty significant. I am trying to play around with the different modules that would be needed in different cases and can't seem to get the power manageable for any of them

You won't ever need all of that Shields/Hull for PvE c'mon ;) My "light Corvette" has a bit less than 3000 shields more or less same Hull, boosts at 430 and can jump 35 light years,it wrecks everything easily as well and I bet has way more handling than this one.Plus it can travel...

How? A fully D-graded Corvette with Lightweight / Stripped Down engineering except A-Grade Thrusters at G5 Dirty / Drag Drives with NO internals and NO weapons only boosts to 425 ...

Yes you can collect and kill at the same time. I usually don't because the open Cargo Hatch screws movement, I collect afterwards.

The power management looks a lot more daunting on this build than it really is. When the hardpoints deploy the FSD Booster and Fuel Scoop shut off, that's it. The rest of the numbers are really a formaility. The advantage is I have a nearly full beam build, that can for all intents and purposes fire forever. It ALSO avoids the horrid heat and integrity issues an Overcharged Power Plant has, as this is G5 Armored/Monstered.

God, I LOVE the Imperial Hammer. Not for just the damage it does but the sound it makes. Crazy cool weapon! I added it this this Vette tank, along with two smaller Rails. I don't even need the smaller Rails though, IH is more than enough. I took the Vette out for a test kill with the Hammer and small Rails added. Love it! I smoked 3 groups of 3 Wings of Kraits, FAS and I think a Clipper was in there... just blasted them one at a time, while taking their Wingman's fire. Vette didn't even feel it and they all died quickly. This was just the local NAV, will need to head back to my Comp NAV, where there's more Deadly and Elite ships, but these were all Master to Deadly and not a scratch. Will do my video after dinner and then need to wait the 4 weeks for YouTube to "process" it to death :cautious:

I usually have to wait until after the fighting is done. Otherwise the limpets either get taken out or they can't return because I'm moving around too much, or I stray too far from the materials and the limpets expire or the materials go away.
