Summary
System: Pleiades Sector CW-U B3-2
Station: Musashi (Megaship, large pads available, 131 Ls from main star, 369.11 Ly from Sol)
Objective: Hand in Pilots' Federation Combat Bonds for destroying Thargoid ships
Time limit: 21st July 3308 @ 06:00 UTC

Description
As the Thargoid presence increases in the HIP 22460 system, Azimuth Biotech and the superpowers call for reinforcements.
An urgent bulletin was transmitted from Commodore Morag Halloran aboard the Bright Sentinel:
A series of actions by ‘Operation Wych Hunt’ saboteurs have resulted in delays to Azimuth Biotech’s supply infrastructure. As a result of these traitorous acts, we have been forced to amend the construction timetable for the Proteus Wave.

Salvation informs me that it will be approximately two more weeks until the weapon is fully assembled. This delay increases the Proteus Wave’s exposure to Thargoid intervention, potentially undermining the project. But we remain convinced that the majority of pilots are committed to ensuring a human victory.

After discussions with Admiral Atherton, Admiral Price and Admiral Ziegler, the coalition has agreed to provide funding for increased defences in HIP 22460. For the next two weeks, independent pilots can claim reimbursement for the hazardous task of engaging the Thargoids.

Thargoid combat bonds can be handed in at the Musashi megaship in the nearby Pleiades Sector CW-U B3-2 system. The most dedicated Commanders by contribution will be rewarded with Salvation’s pre-engineered Guardian gauss cannons.
  • The top 50% of contributors will receive one small Salvation Gauss Cannon.
  • The top 25% of contributors will receive two small Salvation Gauss Cannons.
In support of the anti-thargoid efforts, a variety of AX weapons are now available to purchase at the Musashi.
The campaign begins on the 14th of July 3308 and will run for one week. Shortly after the campaign ends, rewards will be distributed and a second phase will begin.
To earn rewards, you must sign up as an active participant before handing in Pilots' Federation Combat Bonds at the Musashi in the Pleiades Sector CW-U B3-2 system.
Please note that if you have any crew members, a proportion of your combat bonds will be automatically assigned to them. These combat bonds will not count towards your personal contribution total, and your crew will receive the reward for these combat bonds when they are handed in. The proportion of combat bonds assigned to your crew will depend on their rank.
Be aware that faction-state changes and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.
Notes:
  • The Musashi is orbiting planet 2
  • Thargoids most likely to be found in HIP 22460 nearby
  • Megaship services: Commodities Market, Outfitting, Repair, Restock, Refuel

I'm already at Musashi, top 10 cmdrs! But it's funny, I'm there with PvP Corvette, bacause some gankers (or Thargoid protectors, I don't know) killed me in my ax Krait, at INV Audacious Dream, and then I came with PvP ship, and I noticed another Corvette was there to protect ax ships against gankers. So it's lively in HIP 22460, but in open, of course.
Capital ship is shooting thargoids, ax ships too, gankers shooting ax ships, anti-gankers shooting gankers then Interceptor enters with EMP - all this things at the same time, same place. (y)

Do we know what this Salvation Gauss cannon is like?
Better than guardian? Worse?

Guess it's the small repeater one - similar to the hammers but with 4shots instead of 3, and lower falloff (1.2km instead of 1.5km for normal gausses)
Actually, since they fixed the bug with premium ammo applying to each individual shot in the burst, they're worse than the normal gausses

LOL!
The Sally Gauss is good if want a weapon that can take on both interceptors and scouts.
If you're just going for interceptors normal Gauss is better.
In the CG system it's gankers. OWH are elsewhere.

To whom it may concern:

It's amazing to see how you made the purchase of Odyssey a pay-to-win matter.

If players decided to not buy your product, they have a serious disadvantage in your combat CGs, losing all the bonds upon death. Not to mention that CGs like the one today are already decided before they even start, by players who do nothing else than farming AX bonds and hoarding them in the billions without fear of losing any.

It's ridiculous how you make the purchase of your product, which didn't deserve to be bought at the time it was released, a precondition to compete with other players in something called a community goal.

Why on earth did they make the CG hand-in ship one system over instead of using, say Heart of Taurus which is right there and doing nothing??

Also, it's going to be a pain to contribute fully to this CG when I'm currently only getting 25-50% of the payments for the bugs I kill. Not sure if FDev "rebalanced" the way the CX payments work or if it's yet another glitch, but it's immensely irritated to watch a Scout die while being hit by my beam lasers yet get no credit for the kill.

Wait, what? Odyssey players don't lose their combat bond payments if they die???

That's a bit farfetched

People that can rack billions of credits in AX combat... they never die.
Sure, it's less pressure knowing you wont lose the bonds, but it wont make any difference

I'm not much of an Axi player (i can reliably kill Basilisks, but thats about it), but i still managed to get 1bn axi bonds in one week. Without deaths

Combat bonds, nope
Bounties, yes

Guess this happens due to how ground CZ works where it's damn easy to get killed.
However, i still think it's better to make the bonds auto-cash in immediately than what we have now - as in not losing them when dying...

It's a shame, Fdev doesn't even give a chance to have a CG against Salvation, as happened before in some cases. Then they still say that the players are the ones who guide the story, it may be, but in very few cases, and especially now that it's close to the end, they don't want us to change even 1%.

Hey, at least you made the perfect scapegoat for them delaying the story.
