Just wanted another place to put some notes on various stuff, preferably related to Anarchy.
I will start by trying to feed the title
the game uses the word anarchy to define all systems with no population. fine.
it also has factions listed as Anarchy Type.
1 is total lawless as there are no laws and no people, very obvious and should be clear.
the other describes a people that have no desire to be influenced by laws created by others in other systems that do not apply to them in any way whatsoever.
They have chosen to live with simple rules , each set of rules defined by each person.
The person in charge of any property is where any rules become laws, for that npc faction, for that space station and its given area of roughly 1mm or planetary station and its given area of roughly 400km
Many say each npc faction is the same as any other of same type.
maybe.
I don't see it though.
that aside.
the important thing after what I typed above, is what do they do.
And I said they each do their own thing.
Here is where things get different.
any one of them can go and kill or steal and get a bounty elsewhere, all normal.
People say it can't and doesn't work in that anarchy system.
Yet, if our hero, now a criminal in another non-anarchy system, steals or does something the main anarchy npc has on his list of do's and don'ts in this anarchy system, he gets a bounty on him.
btw, it has nothing to do with his bounty from another system.
So many variations in this of all the ways it works.
The jist is, to be anarchy, you must first decide why are you anarchy, then define your anarchy.
If all you do is kill clean ships, you are a murderer., there is no political spot for that except terrorist, not a faction type., nor is murderer.
Anarchists will shoot you for stealing from them
for shooting at their stations
They do pay bounties for several things, exactly like all other factions.
Even though it may seem odd or wrong, the mechanic is there.
They have laws, you just have to learn what they are.
Learn how to use them to support your anarchists.
It by no means is the definition of a criminal or group of criminals.
No more than a farm full of hippies is a pot farm or a sex party.
IMO, for me the label Anarchy is what is given to those not following or believing in any of the other choices for government.
Every faction has criminals.
Most of the worst criminals are actually at the top of the food chain of the other so called governments. - This Is life, this is normal.
And most important, every society needs a scapegoat, a caste of beings to be blamed for all that is wrong. again, normal
Life without anarchy is boredom to a T.
and in this game, that other factions mimic anarchy faction actions when forced to play together is not only fascinating, but introduces things you just normally never see.
One of the best parts of this game, is sooo many of the rules are nowhere, it is up to you to find what they are and how they work
even though the BGS supposedly was never meant as a game, it is where you learn all about the factions and how to deal with them
even though the black market has been fidgeted with to try to help some of the anarchists, IMO it has always worked as I expected it to work, occasional bug aside.
Know that trade is trade, BM or not, there is a demand column in both, if you are not paying attention and you are selling stolen goods that has a demand of 1 or 0, what is wrong with you, why would you expect that to work?
...
moving on, many things I want to share.
But I am busy supporting my anarchists too, so.
