(desperate search of a PvP system ) Please Developers - improve PvP


Yes, now it's possible. And i like that. But i mean something featured. Nothing complex or to much deep... just the oppotunity to shoot people who want to shoot people. Just a "conflict zone" where you know that you go there to shoot people, using assets you think you can effort, and a place where you haven't to date the task with other people
maybe in the future also cooperative instances (ex. Engage and destroy that anaconda or capital ship). Those could be in private group but also in matchmaking maybe. Of course we need a better comunication system, but not that invasive like those you can find in the most acclaimed mmo. It's not needed.
 
Please don't add a high PvP zone anywhere in the Galaxy for the sake of PvP .. If the story leads to an all out war that players can join on either side then cool.. but creating area's for non gameplay reasons Just to please the PvP crowd would IMO be (and I hate this word) 'Immersion' breaking .. if you want to play ED as a Pvp Game then fine .. create your own groups, pick a system and fight it out .. Players who dislike Pvp are constantly told to "Go Solo" or "Private Group" stay out of "All" .. well now I say to people that want ED to be a PvP game ... make your own group and keep your 'Zones' out of my game.

Get likeminded people together and Go Private! That's the answer to everybody else when they can't find what they want.

I'm actually really surprised there isn't a Private PVP Mayhem Group already (or there is and I don't know about it?) where 1000's of commanders with like-minded goals could just go and duke it out all day and night. They could even specify the systems they'd be around in most of the time. Set up your own rules, tournaments, etc ... would be great for people that want this and so incredibly simple.

PVP Sol Group - PVPers that always hang around Sol. If the permit is the issue, PVP Everate Group - PVPers that always hang around Everate.

All my hought are not intended like something "instead of", but somethimg like a break. As intended you don't have any reason to go there except to shoot people. You don't have any special reward and such. This could be a way to test a mechanic for the implementation of the featured dynamic universe.
because, now, maybe it's possible but for sure is irrealistic get what you are saying. Now you can't bring a group and fight other groups according to the dynamic universe of ED.

So start a Private Group, get everybody together that wants this! It could become huge and it's the simplest thing in the world to do. The PVE Mobius group is over 3000 commanders. With all the talk of PVP it seems like you have people that want this also. Go for it! Start the group, set a "home system" and you're golden.

Wait, what tools? If you're talking about galnet that's hilariously inaccurate. Half the systems mentioned there don't even have zones and some of the best populated zones aren't listed.

Nope, I am talking about using the galaxy and system maps. Systems with zones have the State: War etc.

If the answer is go private, why there is the open play? Don't you want the way to fight players for chane the "universe"?
 
PvP interactions can take place almost everywhere.

Trader vs Pirates
Bounty Hunters vs Wanted (Pirate included)
Empire vs Federation.
And probably much more in the future.

I do not think we should have one dedicated area of the game for Pvp only.
Pvp interactions should be story driven by developers and by Cmdrs (Role Play) to my opinion.
With mean it can be both planned and unscripted, unpredictable.

Look for system with civil war status. You will most likely find some conflict zone located in :
Buricasses, NLTT 56379, Tionisla, etc.

The funny thing is that traders can bring unbalanced to some system where they trade. Helping a minor faction to rise to the point of a civil war become inevitable. And so the conflict zone.

I don't know if you read my posts. But i think it would be stupid to deny pvp except on "pvp zones". I am not saying that pvp should take place only on specigic places.
It should be like now, and hopefully much better. But i think that also "pvp zones" like i wrote somewhere, could improve the overall experience.

It's just an option. And it will still 'change' the universe. All modes are completely connected, all they do is separate visibility from players. If I was a true hardcore PVPer, I'd start a group and get as many people as I could to play in it, set a system to go to all the time and watch it fill up with all the other PVPers that want to fight skilled, dedicated PVP pilots. I wouldn't waste my time following around unshielded traders and trying to find systems where people may not want to join me in my quest to become the ultimate PVP pilot.

That's just me though.

You miss the question "why open play", but it doesn't matter, i'm a bit joking.
But, like is now the game, and considering your opinion, if you were a true hardcore pvper you would like atleast a way to do pvp when and where you want, without the task of a private group, but just a place where to shoot someone, for many reasons (you want to take a brek from other activties, you don't have too much time but want to shoot someone (playing Elite ofc), maybe to test a fit).
I bet that, if you were a true hardcore pvper ;) and i can bet if you were a true harcore pvper you would much more ;)

Ah, for the records, i am not a true hardcore pvper. i am a player who loves ED and would to improve his experience... like you i guess ;)

Perhaps FD should just add a single instance area simply for PvP. Like a new game mode. You go from the main menu, take whever ship you have been in the game with, and can pew-pew away against others in this basic instance.

If you get a kill, you get the target's insurance value as a reward. If you die, you lose your insurance value. This of course is then sychronized with the main game credits. Would make things interesting for people taking big ships into the mode... would be like having a bright red "Kill me" sign on their cockpit :D

If you die and don't have money for insurance, you are kicked out and can't get back in until you can cover yourself in a fight.

Perhaps FD could carry on making the game for the vast majority of players and once this is done, start making niche instances for PvP?

.... and would be primarily used to make it easier to track down players (who may or may not be seeking "attention").

If it was to be player/NPC agnostic, i.e. no filter for players only, it would be a useful tool for equal-opportunities pirates and bounty hunters.

.... the matchmaking system *could* be tweaked quite simply to only match players with a similar ratio of player kills to NPC kills. :eek: ;)
 
Trick to finding PvP is having it find you. I found that since I switched from a pure bounty hunter to a "privateer", any system I enter I become an instant target thanks to the ... *cough* ... economic benefit of shooting at me. Thing I discovered as well is that being a bounty hunter is not nearly as profitable as being a "privateer".
