Destroyed for no reason?

My kind of game play (exploring Goid and Guardian sites for example) isn't bland and uninteresting to me 🙂 it's sad that it's such a marginalised part of ED.
It's not about finding a 'thrill' in it for me, PvP just isn't my thing. I'm just not that kind of competitive person that feels that winning over someone else is an achievement. I get a lot more satisfaction when I help someone else out (which I've done many times in ED). I'm more of a collaborative person than a competitive one and I suspect that is the root of the difference between us maybe?
this is cutthroat galaxy out there cmdr
deal with it

Errr. Let me think about that for a few minutes...

Meh. Not for me thanks 🙂
I prefer my version of reality over yours 😎
it's not my version it's frontier

Take control of your own starship in a cutthroat galaxy.

Massively Multiplayer

Experience unpredictable encounters with players from around the world in Elite Dangerous’ vast, massively multiplayer space. Experience the connected galaxy alone in Solo mode or with players across the world in Open Play, where every pilot you face could become a trusted ally or your deadliest enemy.

It's the player base that make the game. If people didn't buy FPS games, fdev sure as fruitcake wouldn't spend a bloody minute developing it. So please don't peddle that rubbish in my face!

Edit: I would go further - its the Star Wars franchise that has driven much of this and while I enjoy a Star Wars Movie as much as the next person, when it becomes the only game in town - its a sad day I feel...

My point exactly...

That isn't the point of my comment, and you know it.
I just don't understand how 'seal clubbing' can be enjoyable, unless you are the sort of person that enjoys bullying others. PVP for BGS, Piracy, etc. is not what myself, and others, have a problem with.

To take your 'Doom' example, if I was constantly placed against players that had the best weapons, knew the maps, and were of a higher skill level than me, when I wanted to have a fair game against players of a similar level, then yes, it probably would 'ruin my day', as I would have been looking forward to simply having a laugh pew pewing, rather than constantly being head shot.

100% Hard agree with you here.

Cutthroats can be hunted and killed or arrested. That means they are gone forever. If that could be possible in-game, other players could group up to get rid of the cutthroats.

Currently it is not possible, every of these cutthroats can just log off to avoid any punishment and even if they get killed, they just respawn / rebuy and can continue to be an ole (thats what they are to me). They kill the fun for other players while faceing no consequences.

Wonder how many of these " I am a cutthroat and this game is "dangerous"" player would still be a cutthroat if they would really have to face consequences for their actions, like being killed forever or being arrested for months or years ingame

Imagine someone stands in the middle of new York, kills people while yelling "world is dangerous". For how long would he be able to do that before being taken out?
In ED they can do it every day.
