"Development Level >>"? Figuring out what all these numbers do.

Do we know how much Refinery you need in a Refinery/Extraction economy to produce Steel and Titanium? I’ve been planning out making some surface Refinery hubs and a Coriolis on a HMC to make making a T3 planetary port there easier, but will that work now?

With the apparent changes due to that planets suddenly seem to give economic influence, I'd wait with any major construction until we get information from FDev Soon(TM).

In theory, any amount of Refinery should get you at least something in that scenario, since the Extraction side won't consume them - and then it's just increasing the ratio to get more of them.

It's Refinery/Industrial or Refinery/HT where the mixed economy is really going to hurt metal production.

I found the perfect test case to determine whether it's the presence of an atmosphere (regardless of gas type) or 10% phosphorus that gives an icy body an agri influence.

I claimed the next door system Col 285 sector FO-E B26-4 and it's planet/moon 4a is landable but has no atmosphere and it's phosphorus content is 14.8%.

Building a colony type facility on the ground or in orbit should show whether there is a strong agri influence or not.

I'm in the process of building the primary station (outpost) first though so it'll take a little time to do the test build. The planet around which the outpost will orbit is not landable but has helium. Unfortunately, non-landable planets don't have an element chart to go with it so no idea how much phosphorus there is 🤷‍♂️ But it's an interesting test in itself.

If you do pass by the system and happen to drop off some construction material then thank you 😁 I will return the favor 👍

Do hubs, installations or settlements influence anything any more? Does the planetary influence just override colony economies?

I was going to grab a couple more systems with HMCs with lots of slots. I'm glad I waited.

My sun orbiting Coriolis following the Thursday Tick:
  • Last week I only added an Orbital Science Outpost orbiting sun with Coriolis. This activated the High Tech market in the Coriolis.
  • System score increased by 3. (apparently science outpost = +3)
  • The Coriolis already had shipyard (10 ships for sale, increased from 7), outfitting, livery, and vista genomics.
  • It still has no Universal Cartographers.
  • The two stations are mashed together. It is possible to land on the Coriolis depending on the pad you are assigned, but not the Orbital Science Station.
  • System economy switched from Colony/HighTech to HighTech/Colony.
  • The Coriolis economy is Colony/HighTech.
  • The Orbital Science Outpost added 10,000 to the system population following Thursday tick.
  • System Population: 50,140. System Score: 50, Happiness: 0%, Weekly Payment 501,052 Cr.

Edit: The addition of the Orbital Science Outpost affected the Coriolis, but none of the other orbital or surface stations. All other market items and quantities remained identical from last week.

How do you know this, when planet body pressure was added 2 days ago

I'm curios, can we see during an asset's construction which faction will own it?
No. So far the construction sites have all been owned by the colonisation-sponsoring faction (even after I put someone else in charge of the system) and that hasn't usually reflected actual assignment of assets.

Next test (this will probably take me a few weeks to get round to, though) will be to retreat the sponsor out of the system entirely and see if they still own the construction sites at that point.

In other words, the construction of orbis and coriolis are out of the question if the type of planet does not correspond to what one wants to do.

need people to build fresh coriolis and report back in
1. rocky body (expected refinery)
2. high metal content (expected extraction)
3. icy body (expected industry)

Also possible that existence of atmosphere affects the economy

we back to square one

Pretty much. We'll have to wait for word from FDev about the game mechanics, there's a limit to how much work the playerbase will do experimenting with a poorly documented system.

Any bets, in slices of pizza, that this is all tied in with Vanguards?

They respond to youtubers, but theyre all paid to promote new ship atm so nobody will ask about colonization.
