A large part of the community left with SoTG to Discord I think. Probably due to Forum chat rules.
You are correct zimms, I meant this particular Forum community as my main interest.
I do realise that the ED Community is huge with discussions spread over many platforms, Reddit, Discord, Twitter, etc, etc, but I am referring to this as the 'official' ED Forum. Many other platforms/discussion/forums are poisonous and thus rarely use.

Honestly, even if it was only 2 people still talking in here after 8 years, I know I’d be still among many on this side pushing to keep a light shining for them in some way.

The comments on count/engagement don’t phase me out for you guys at all, so no worries o7
Cheers, Sally! oh-seven to you as well!

It had less to do with the chat rules, I think, and more to do with the level of discourse in the more frequented areas of the forum. (Exhibit A would be a thread today where Sally requested some feedback on a reported bug in the Arx store that devolved into several pages of yelling about Fdev ripping off Americans because of the currency exchange rate and I've filed reports on third party websites about it.)

There are still plenty of great people on here, but....

Quickly stick my mod hat on to say at least try and stay on topic please, rather than discussing exoduses to Discord servers or other users.

Despite my best efforts discussing Powerplay many people still post here.

I can tell you who will be the last two though, in the dim and distant future when the stars are gone and protons decay...

....its going to be me and Robert deadlocked in that topic that never ends for all eternity, pages and pages and pages of it.

And if that grimdark future comes to pass, you might...erm... reevaluate keeping the forum going....
This is the most truthful thing that has ever been said on these forums :D

Apologies to Francisco de Goya but The End Times™ and The Last Thread™ will look like this....

Wow, I just read that. What a trainwreck...

Absolute dumpster fire! :ROFLMAO:

YOOOO also, sorry, I'm a bit hype at the moment - there's a lot going on (soon soon, promise, we got you!) - but I've just caught up on some flipping lovely sentiment in here!! Youuuuuuuuuuuuu...allstars.

Honestly don't worry I'm good, it was more a "rubbish" in a sense that I want you guys to know you're not left alone, even in times where we might not be as chatty as usual.
Always in the thoughts - the Commanders are o7

Also, I should entirely add that never once recently have I felt anything but warm and fuzzy around you lot, so always know that's majorly appreciated. Team wide, actually.
Thank YOU all for being you!

I and many others may have a lot of criticisms for the game, but nobody can fault your positivity and endurance weathering these choppy waters.

I just hope those captaining the boat realize there's a lot of us back here on the ropes ready and willing to help paddle and kick, even it causes a few splashes, to help move things along.

Not picking on anyone in particular, but I see a lot of negative comments about FDev and Elite though we are all still here. Just shows how such a cool game this is. I've loved it since the original way back in the BBC days.

but Frontier staff don't get in my firing line ;)
Of course not, it's better to bother other players for years...

that's what the forums should be used for, and not to tell companies about the poor work they give us...
Years and disasters go by and here the same people don't stop crawling...🤦‍♂️
this complete subservience and lack of character will be studied for years in companies, simply amazing.

I have entered today after 2 years and now decidedly I will never do it again.

The reality is that you have the current game disaster that you deserve, neither more nor less. Good luck.

Maybe my kit is special, I don't seem to have half the problems others do...

it must be that... oh the privileged ones to whom frontier sent a copy totally without errors... another of the stories so many times told..
go and tell the steam reviews and the thousands of players who have abandoned it over the years... the funniest thing is how you deny the evidence... what a beating awaits you with starfield, the shame is going to be EPIC

Assuming it doesn't take 4-10 years for the modding community to properly fix the game, like with every other Bethesda RPG title to date....

Well at least EDO has managed to have many fixes and improvements in only 1.5 + years and now is getting closer to how it's should have been first released?
Sorry but at least Starfield took the steps to say it ain't ready so we aren't releasing . Yes I'm still grumpy 😁

oh yes, tell me more... I remember that before the first week bethesda had released one or 2 skyrim patches, the same as the people of clandlan.
How many patches do you think elite would need currently and how many patches are there now, a thousand?
in the first week of skyrim's release it was completely finishable, you can't say the same about oddyssey even in your dreams...
those of you who criticize betrhesda and its immense and good games are one of the most absurd in this community, when after 11 years, skyrim still has millions of players...how many does it currently Elite have? 500? Don't waste time writing for me, in a few months you can see for yourself.
Dude, Frontier and any company must have wet dreams thinking of ever reaching the successes of Bethesda, even with bugs in a very huge game... notice that elite is just a screen game and even so they do it wrong ,that is the level

You have no way of knowing. But last week's trade CG had over 5,000 contributors, and that would only be a fraction of the current playerbase.

It is also possible to criticise Bethesda for some shoddy releases that modders fixed (the community patch for Skyrim wouldn't exist if it didn't need to), and still enjoy the games. They're not mutually exclusive.
