Definitely agree that there's a lot of entitlement and toxic demeanor.
This sounds like a "blame the victim" mentality. Communication from the community managers shouldn't rely on us all sitting criss-cross applesauce like pre-schoolers. And, even if we did, do you think anything will change? Arf says they have nothing to communicate, so that is where the problem lies. Whether that's because they're not to a point development-wise to share anything or higher-ups have put a muzzle on them, who knows?
Those are the only type of comments that seem to get a response though, which probably isn't the way to deal with them. Delete them and hand out infractions to make a clear statement.

I don't think anyone's expecting that Zac keep us all appraised of his every movement (if they do they need a swift kick up the arxe) but a sneaky quick line posted from any member of the CM team a bit earlier in the week just to say "No discovery scanner this week for reasons, see you Thursday for the livestream, and disco scan will be back next week" wouldn't have gone amiss, and probably gone some way to avoid giving an already twitchy community who've been repeatedly promised better communication more reason to twitch and get angsty.
Why does there have to be a 'victim' angle in any of this to begin with? Being civil is the base amount of respect required, it's not hard.
Respectfully, Arf, he was asking for notification of the cancellation of the Discovery Scanner. Not of Zac's absence from work. Things must be tough. You've been absent from the forums for an entire month only to pop back on and bark at someone for something they didn't say.
I'm rooting for the team, but this kind of stuff is a bit hard to defend.
