Interdictions are bugged and even when I submit sometimes it fails. Enemies CHEW through shielding now it's so absurd. The DPS is x5 what we're used to in some cases. It's not because the AI *flies better* it's because they have God weapons and none of us have God shields.

I was hoping the interdictions would have been a little fixed by now.
It also seems that you have to submit quickly, don't attempt to fight it as it still counts as being interdicted whilst the submit thing is processing. If you fail before it submits, it still counts as a fail.

A little odd, that one.

You could also make the point that only 7% of players are registered on the forum at all - and the nature of people that care to register and actively participate on game forums is that they are more invested in a game. This will unnaturally skew the picture on every poll, the number of hardcore players voting will be much higher than in the actual community.

35% of people on this forum voting "too hard" might translate to a much higher number of people playing the game finding the AI too hard. Difficult to quantify, unless FDev would carry out a vote through the game client or launcher. In any case, 35% voting too hard on the forum should worry FDev.
Why?

We have no idea why they voted that way - and the arguments here have been... varied in their validity.

I think the work being done on AI is fanatic. This is day one (or two maybe) of 2.1, hardly enough time for everyone to adapt.

Things have been improved, it might take some time to get used to it but luckily all you are risking are in game credits!

With all due respect, you really have no idea if that will be the case. A percentage will quit, a percentage will write bad reviews and pass the word "avoid ED, no fun, impossible hard, yada yada". This will hurt sales. You are assuming that this percentage will be low enough not to matter, I assume that it will hurt sales in a significant way. Possibly to a point that might kill game development.

Again, personally I have no issue with the new AI - but I am not a casual player.
Lol another one sided view, take the blinkers off.

What about the players who left the game citing a lack of challenge, they couldn't possibly be tempted back hearing their gripe was addressed and bring other friends with them. Entire guilds present during closed beta and post launch quit for that reason alone. Then there are the new players who are not scared of a challenge and relish it, they couldn't possibly find their way to the game to replace these new players who we hear are going to up and leave as soon as they are killed.

No, none of that can possibly happen; the sky is falling and chicken little is doing his routine.

Quite right, I never said it should be easy, just that I should be able to Play My Way, not be forced into playing the engineer roundabout - see my answer above.
My apologies - I wasn't aware of the extensive testing you've done on the matchmaking and different combat rating/ship size combinations - the evidence you presented completely convinced me.

Wrong

I just managed to escape 6 boogies ( at least 1 FDL ) with my Python whilst panicking and having 2 pips to sys and 2 pips to engines. Also had to re choose my high wake target bc my original
target was hidden behind planet...

i still think while voicing concerns here we need to play a while longer. my own opinion is, that until i have seen more of the AI npcs i cant yet form an opinion. i dont really want to have to do it by losing my ship when i am VERY good at judging a fight in the first 10-30 seconds as to if i need to flee.

another concern is the reports of npcs preventing you fleeing by destroying shields and then thrusters and FSD within the first minute. thats a game breaker. people need to have survival time to make the fight/flight decision. they need a real chance of getting away if they decide they need to also. in a game with massive rebuy cost (yes 5% of a decent ship is a massive hit to the non billionaires like me) the cost of not having a chance is too high. but as i say its still early and despite beta testing, the AI will still need and get some tweaks. going live is not the same as beta.

You are exactly the kind of player FD wants to see removed from the ED universe apparently. They only want the truly skilled and elite players to enjoy it. Us casual players need to look elsewhere.

Huh !? are you feeling all right ? i hope you are not in the gaming industry to be more specific the sales management part cause whoever would have you as their sales guy would declare bankruptcy in no time . How can you say that FD want's people like him removed ? FD needs $ like any other gaming company i don't think they mind that unskilled pay for this game after all we (the players) keep this going on . Imagine this on Steam's Elite Dangerous page "Are you a skilled player then buy our game , if not be gone from our page forget that you have accessed it" . Now to be on topic i saw someone suggested that solo-mode should have a difficulty slider and i agree with that person , i admit that i am not a skilled player , i like dog-fighting to remain a virtual thing ,something that doesn't make you want to delete this game and flame on the forum like i did earlier . For now i will try to adapt and a few hours have passed with no result . The darn AI is toooo OverPowered !!!

Yes - I cba to repeat my response so pretend that's what I've written here. Now you do likewise and we'll be having conversations :D

Okay, been doing some more BH in HiRES.

Police Anaconda is your BFF. Love it. Take it to the movies. Buy it a 6-pack of beer. Make out with it. Sacrifice your firstborn to it.

I believe your sarcasm detector might be broken.... :p

Hint: I think you and Cybrdroyd are in full agreement.

With all due respect, it is knee jerking. Lot of players will feel annoyed, will want to leave. Some will uninstall game. Some will try it once, twice, will ask for suggestions, ideas, will want to get good. It happens.

I started to play TF2 some three years ago. Ohh man I was frustrated as hell for first 10 - 20 hours. I quit about seven times. And then I started to get good. Started to observe tactics, like retreating. Got better and better.

take your blindfold off and throw away your white cane hex. there are far far more casual players than pro gamers like you. no game survives just on pro gamers one time donation. of course if you want a closed little club of 30 or 100 paying an exorbitant monthly subscription far more than world of warcraft... in a game with no storylines and no fancy cutscenes... just to keep one server alive for a dead unsupported game, thats the way to go about it - drive off the casuals and cater for the niche market of masochist pro gamers.

And don't forget Demon Souls is pointlessly hard and will never get a sequel

Sorry, wasn't the whole POINT of that series the difficulty? As in, it was advertised so that only masochists would buy it? E: D's main selling point certainly isn't its difficulty, yet you seem to think it is. Go play DS3 if you want, and stop advocating for the same in this game.

I'm not - I don't want it that hard - but thanks for pointing out that it's on it's third sequel so the people decrying hard games as pretty much pointless don't really have a leg to stand on.
