Dissapointed with golden Phantom

I get that some pilots like gold, feel free to fly whatever you like. This thread is not a diss against the golden skin. This thread is about having only the golden skin for Phantom. This Christmas we get extra paintjobs: golden, iridescent or chromed, where the last two can be called silver. But ships get only one of three, and somehow Phantom got the golden one, IMHO not suitable for an explorer ship at all. Plus the fact that other paint jobs for Phantom are kinda blunt. Midnight Black stands out but there is a reason why deep space is called The Black.

My point then is 'more paint jobs for Phantom' or alternatively 'silver paint job for Phantom' please

You had a chance, right after the American Thanksgiving holiday, to buy up the Mid-night Black paint job for the Phantom. This progress is how it goes. Paint Jobs get released with the release of the Newsletters. Give it time.

I had a chance and took that chance. I do have it, but I don't use it because the stock skin looks better.

Assumptions are all the rage. I was making a point about how paint jobs become available. Every week with the Newsletter new vanity stuffs are released. Keep your eyes peeled. Fridays happen all of the time.

P.S. I just noticed that the Store has the Tactical, Military, and Vibrant paint packs available for the Phantom.

yeah I know man, my issue is it does not happen very often, it does happen on Christmas and I am just worried that if they gave us the golden one now the new pain jobs won't land until Easter or so. Or maybe we'll get a pink one for Valentine's Day XD

Just give it time. The Festive Countdown isn't over, and last year, a whole heap of paints were added at the end. Chromed and Iridescent Gleam for the Krait Phantom are still very possible.

It's why I'm holding off buying the pirate pack for the Cobra. If I buy now I'll likely have no cash for the limited stuff.

I'm disappointed by the lack of Gold (or indeed Chromed) options for the Big 3 - surely if any ship in the game suits an ostentatious gold skin, it would be the Cutter.

Those have been around for awhile, but most folks who got them stopped using them within a month. Those were gold/chrome respectively, which haven't been re-released in awhile. People who'd purchased them, were given the Golden/Chromed versions for free. They aren't particularly photogenic. The Golden is also more like pyrrite and lacks the extra detailing the original Gold had with decals.

This year I didn't bother buying any of the skins. I got a new video card and blinged out all the video options in the game instead. :)

Silver (ok...technically chrome) and gold. Are these paint jobs a homage to a Birl Ives Christmas classic?

When will the complete collection be available on the store? And how long are the paint jobs normally available? If I can see the complete list, it would keep me from impulse buying paint jobs I won’t use often.

I have a Gold paint job for the AspX, don't know how I got it, certainly didn't buy it. But every time I checkout my paint jobs for it there it is, not ever going to put one on my ships for sure.

I was intending to buy the Gold for the Phantom . . . and I read all the "complaints" . . . yea don't care about any of that. Wanted the gold paint for my Krait Phantom Explorer for the DW2 Expedition. Now it's gone. Bring it back.

I fully agree with OP.
Golden paint is nice but not for explorers.

The phantom is becoming one of the most popular ship right now so it deserves more love and FDEV should ride this train.

Release some nice paint please! ASP and Imperial Courier got some cool ones that should be adapted on the Phantom too!
