True Story: The paint guy at Trevithick dock asked me twice if I really wanted to go with yellow and I'm like "Hey man, it is the color of a new dawn" and he just smiled and started prepping the surface of the ship for painting. I thought we were cool but the orange peel underneath near the left landing gear makes me think he really isn't good at his job. I saw him working in the cafeteria later so I'm starting to think painting might not really be a full time job for him. Manager wouldn't give me a discount but I did get a free coffee. Whatever.

Anways, that happened.
Small price to pay for peaceful co-existence.

That aside, what color should I go with when I'm ready for PvP?

It's OK when people know more than you. Perhaps ask yourself if there might be more behind the title that leads people to say DG2 had a lot of really good PvPers participating. It's possible to do more than one thing in this game, after all.

If you had read what I thought in the edit you would know that is irrelevant.

All this talk from the gankers about "mission accomplished, see you in the bubble" sounds much too contrived and coordinated. It's more likely they want more defenseless explorers to feel safe and pop up in Open. Slim Pickens lately? Murderhobos getting bored way out yonder?

I dunno, Krash, with our new 'Ship is yellow, don't murder the fellow' policy in place there probably won't be much action in 'the bubble'.
I'm up for a brainstorming session on how to handle this crisis - I think it is important to keep these industrious folks busy.

Well, Open hasn't changed much for bubble dwellers which is another sign all this talk about "coming back" is a stinking pile of biowaste. All of these seal clubbers have alt accounts. In fact I suspect you are one them just setting up another trap.

Maybe, but I kind of doubt it. I don't know how far you've ever been from the bubble, but I can tell you that once you leave the core the trip gets downright depressing in terms of how boring it is. Your typical ganker is a lot of things, but patient isn't one of them. I called it from the very beginning: these guys would do the schmexy part of the trip, the first half, but when it turns into real work they would more or less just come on home waving the George Bush "mission accomplished" sign. Let's face it: this was the quick half. Most of them have never been more than 5000 LY's before this.

If you think I'm setting up a trap feel free to meet me outside of Trevithick station.
I'll let your blow up my Sidewinder - in fact, you can bring your slowest, largest, most-expensive, non-shielded ship and see how easy it is to blow me up.

Well, Sir, when you first start out I would go for a darker color so that you are harder to see.

However, once you solo a Hydra in an unshielded and unpower planted Hauler and become the Grand Nagus of PvP, then you will want the most flashy and photogenic paint jobs to highlight your PvP prowess in your 24/7 stream with millions of screaming and adoring subscribers.

To be honest, I'd be shocked if I got more than a couple of hundred thousand subscribers.
I say that because of the subscription fee.

It would be disingenuous to set out to get this response and then be upset when you get it.

Nahh I didn't set out to get a half baked lesson in my own constitutional right to bear arms, I set out to kill some imaginary ships and get some lulz.

Gottem.

I could do without the all the other garbage like death threats and being told I was abused as a child - but your statement here as well as from the general response in the forum is that it just comes with the territory and is permitted or at best lightly censored.

So be it.

Oh, don't think I'm okay with that sort of response.
I'd never send you a death threat in anything other than the thread tags.

It would be wise to avoid people who freak out like what you describe.

This kind of accurate appraisal of the reality from you is so unusual that you actually woke me up there. What on earth are you playing at? Nice glasses btw, I find you much less terrifying now.

I'm the last person in this thread that would murder your ship.
I'm leaving out the reality that I wouldn't currently be able to do it if I tried.

sorry pal, you expressed a reasonable response to the situation one time during a heated argument, that means you're now a ganking murderhobo PVPer and every time you say anything reasonable that's "unusual" now

When you endorse real life death threats as an appropriate reaction to being blown up in a video game you negate all credibility when you claim people have trolled you and deserve blocking on this forum. News flash to you and Wargfoot: gankers might be looking for a reaction, but there are still limits of acceptability. When the ganker blows up someone and that someone slurs them with literal death wishes, or that of their children, or accuses them of being sexual deviants and similar such trash, then the person making the comments is the true villain in this scenario. It's not an equivalent reaction, and anybody who thinks it is needs to seriously re-evaluate their core world view points.
