Distant Worlds 3 expedition is postponed indefinitely (from DW Project Leader Erimus)

New modules? What about us out there at the fringe?
New content? What about us out there at the fringe?
New ships? What about us out there at the fringe?
No one ever thinks about the explorers 🥺
Explorers got the single most dynamic piece of ED though- The Gnosis

I honestly thought FD were going to turn on the gravy at that point and really kick things up :D

Ouch. I bet the real explorers disagree with you here ... 🍻 🍻
There is no 'real' exploration in ED though without danger. Its the only time FD disabled the safeties and content walked up to players.

I could also say it was ever so slightly telegraphed that the biggest and meanest Thargoids might be there but.....that morning I logged on and people running, Jeff Wayne style like this:

I mean if you go that way, there is pretty much nothing for traders in the DLC, to technically speaking they did get the worst, they were simply forgotten.
But yeah, a big part of exploration is planets. I mean, I'd say there is little else in the end, it's pretty much the background for almost everything. If it's broken, then what's the point ?

You are living in a strange universe my friend. One most of us don't live in.
The just put 408,000 new commodity markets into the game.

So why is the piccy showing a running human who hasn't been "cat peopled"?

3/10... poor effort 😤

No argument. EDO is a massive content island, and nothing you do there impact the "space" part of a "space sim". The only reward that can be shared are credits, and they are a joke in EDO (100k for a restore mission ? 2-3m for a cz ? Lol).

Exploration get it the best, it extend the exploration gameplay a bit. If it wasn't ugly and buggy.

In a month or 2, the novelty will have worn off, and nobody but explorers will use spaceleg anymore.

To add to this something I noticed is bounty hunting got heavily buffed as far as payouts go (In Odyssey, Horizons is still the old values) 500-600k for Python? 1.2 Mil for deadly and elite Condas?

The rewards for foot missions and the time involved are way off. Influence and credits should reflect the additional work involved. Other than doing the foot stuff for the novelty and something different until its properly balanced as far as missions and discoveries go I agree that after awhile the foot part will wane.

If I can get 1.2 mil for a conda in a couple mins maybe discovering and sampling planetary life should be buffed by many magnitudes.

I still get a chuckle out of the idea there are dudes sitting in their basement pulling on their joystick who believe they are Real Explorers. I don't think it will ever stop being funny. :D
I feel exactly the same about deadly killers. But hey, we're all just sad sacks playing with pixels, aren't we?

the dangerous jungle that is space in this game. having to tweak direction in SC while watching youtube videos or TV. resisting the urge to sleep.

just like Indiana Jones or lewis and clark

Look, The General Lee and I have landed upon this featureless rock. Our mission, to go steal some data from that joint over there.
It's like driving on a cue ball, for heaven's sake. No texture or topography whatsoever.

Planetary ports aren't the trading meta.
Should've added something with 200k profit marge.

Ok, seriously now we all wanted the Panther Clipper for trading, FD!
with more ports controlled by factions that don’t control the system there’ll be more chance for the big buck states.

I'm on my way to the small peaks in the distance. And look! I am the receiver of the mysterious extra pip!
