Finally! A progress log not dependent on third-party plugins & file edits. :)
I hope there is a link to the document somewhere in the beginning of this thread as well, as it will get buried here.

An interesting Planet in a mysterious Nebula.

While this expedition is flexible in nature, I'm not sure what the appeal is for racing ahead? The whole idea of DW is for it to be a major social event, flying with dozens of fellow players, meeting them at designated places and designated times.

There's so much to see between waypoints, there's no need to race to the next one (unless of course your time is limited and you need to plan ahead!) :)

Just save some stuff for the rest of us to discover :p

Wait, there are planned major social events? :p

Maybe those racing ahead are having unscheduled major social events. Explorers can't be controlled Erimus, you of all people should know that. Besides, there's plenty of time to meet up at the most important waypoints, but if you really want "social" come on to Teamspeak and join the party ---- I'm buying, plus we have free candy for all. :D

Stop constantly implying that we are trying to control people. It's not setting a nice tone :p

I'm moving towards the lagoon and will be there tomorrow. But as Erimus says there is plenty to do sightseeing around it.

And I have a secret weapon if I get bored waiting.. A second commander.

Get some sleep Kaii, you've been working really hard on this expedition and for such a long time. Lighten up, me thinks your sensitivity meter needs calibration. I'm simply stating that trying to get 800+ explorers to do any one thing in particular is a daunting endeavor.

The offer of free beer and candy in Teamspeak still stands, it's incredibly social in here --- communicating via voice tends to foster that. ;)

Guys, I think i found a better Base-Camp, our 2nd seems to be quite boring.
Try this location here, nice View of Nebular, and some nice Canyons.

May someone could take a look at it, I think it would benefit the Expedition.

For those with a case of OCD, here's the list of O/B stars in NGC 6530.
That's the cluster of blue stars leading up to the Lagoon Nebula, including Thor's Eye. It's in order from furthest to closest to the nebula.

Good list, will give some of those closer to Lagoon a bit of a look tomorrow :) can't double back too far though, for my own sanity if nothing else.

My feeble jump range means since leaving Pallaeni I've already scanned 306 systems, including detail scans of some 100+ planets. It's a lot different to my usual way of exploring :)
