Community Event / Creation DIY Controller and Throttle

Looking good. :)

Been looking around for and tossing around different ideas for version 2 of the left hand controller, and starting to lean towards sticking multiple hats on there now... because you can never have too many buttons...
It is hard to believe, but i actually almost run out of of features to assign to buttons ;)

Wires all done, seems to work. I have to clean up the firmware. Thr prototypes all work, basically every part works now but not together! And that needs a little work. Tomorrow i plan to cut a hole in the cowl for mounting, finish the firmware and do some well deserved game time! Also i need to patch the HID descriptor so the potmeters actually show up a sliders and not as a joystick.

Very nice wiring loom work

Today i rebuilt the overhead panel with a new backlight plate. I wasn't happy with the quality of the previous engraving so i tried again. I will add a proper picture later today, the camera is charging up.

Hey Cataclysm, This is a very amazing build. thank you for the inspiration. I have seen your build info on the method you used to get your HOTAS working but i was wondering how you made the sticks themselves... were they 3d Printed ?

That's correct, i 3d-printed the handles and wrapped them in leather with some creative stitching similar to how they make steering wheels..

Thats awesome, I dont want to hijack your thread but i am working on a build with my X52 HOTAS and Arduino DUE ( to run push buttons, momentary switches, rotary encoders, LEDs ect..)... but I love the idea that you did with custom sticks... anyway you would be willing to share your design (I'm new to 3d designs and i would love to use yours as a template)

(my current project still in progress :

I have updated my banner. I'll save it here for posterity and to show how much has changed since the previous version (click for large)

Subscribed, I'll have to check it out from home as what little I've seen in amazing! 90% of the images don't come through here at work though.

All the images should be there, if you missed anything (or if you would like to see closeups of certain elements) just drop me a note.

Seen you latest image on the Show Us Your Setup thread, any chance of a few high res images on here?
The add-ons in the panels below the monitors are coming along nicely. A real professional looking build.

Holy astounding face of amazement batman!!! This is awesome!! I'm a noob. I just got into this game. I like it so much I decided i wanted to build a flight sim in my house. Well I saw you reply in another thread. I noticed yours siggy. I clicked it. I came here. My eyes blew out of my skull!!!

Impressive. Most impressive!

Thanks! It's a little quiet on the progress, because it is mostly finished (except for the keypad) i am putting a little more time into actually playing the game. That, and going outside!

Today i decided to order a set of transducer with a matching amplifier to add some kickback butt kicker action to my setup. I,ll keep you posted on how it turns out!
