Idk, us getting the gibbon, siamang and sifaka really does throw a wrench in that for me.
There were plenty of reasonably simple monkey species outthere, especially with us having the macaque, capuchin, and proboscis laying around for years. Yet none of those was ever used to make more tailess macaques, squirrel monkey or more langurs

But the fact they haven’t used the rigs for celebes macaques any langur or tufted capuchins is just weird - those guys are just iconic for me and would be super easy to make since the rig is there already

I would gladly buy a animal pack dedicated only to langurs

I think the size doesnt really matter aslong as the movement and bodyshape is similar. The sized difference between them for example comparable to that of tiger and leopard.
The main issue i think is more that capuchins have a prehensile tail while squirrels do not, not that the capuchins having a prehensile tail really matters in game. So updating the capuchins tail to not be so curly should do the trick.

Also the crested macaque, after seeing its fellow internet meme animals qoukka and pallas cat making it to the game in recent time i can see it having a decently high chance of being included if there is a pack that can house it, such as rainforest, endangered animals or islands (although that last one is probably of the table by now)

The two reasons why I would be against their inclusion, is that I'm little fed up with SE Asia (With exception of Sumatran Rhinoceros), and that if they're gonna make another monkey, other places need it more.

However in vacuum I like them a lot. They are, as you said, endangered. They have very iconic look. And Sulawesi is such a unique ecosystem (merge of two sides of Wallace line) that every representation from there is welcome for me

Yeah there are legitimate reason why one would not want it.
But hating on it because of a weird internet meme is just like the most random reason ever when its otherwise a normal monkey
To me its like saying "yuck seals are so creepy looking, keep those things away from the game" because of this meme:

We are all going to be contaminated by AI garbage for the foreseeable future. This is really frustrating.

Well i think is kind of valid. It makes feel uncomrtable looking at it. Not a phobia but yes an uneasy feeling, so kind of like someone that hates spiders or snakes and don't want new ones in game. I can just not use it of course so is not like i have to look at it i don't want to but since i really dislike it and don't wish it for the came i obviously prefer the spot it could take in a DLC to go to anything else 🤷🏻‍♂️

I hate AI slop so much, google searching images of animals has been a constant nightmare...

I agree would really be quite happy with them definitely overhated although in terms of getting another monkey for SEA I would prefer either the Francois or Javan langur
